I have a s13, the hand brake is the stock off position in this video, for sure. you can use it as a hand rest. I mess with it all the time. end of story.
HE LEFT THE HANDBRAKE/E-BRAKE ON!! - Oh wait, 60 other people have already said it, maybe I should shut the fuck up.
rh9endless knows his stuff. Good to see someone who can keep the noobs at bay. I wish Jap's had a VHT coated drag strip, they'd be world record holders in almost every class of Jap domestic.
@murdamonte Its a HKS sequential transmission driven with the hand brake on.........:) Although the hand brake didnt really alter the time or terminal speed as they match close to his personal best.
@CodyMcNeil90 Japan has 2 drag circuits, Sendai (mountain track) and Central Circuit (main straight) Occassionally when Fuji speedway is not hosting F1 that is also available to use, but all tracks are without fancy track bite, Only time trackbite has been used is 1/4track at Sendai when the 7sec cars come out to play.
Also the drag racing in Japan would never pass EU/USA levels as the run offs are only around 400m which causes some stopping problems and people sometimes hold of full power.
I'm thinking SR20. The only reason I say this is because when I changed to a high mount tuned length manifold and a T04e I lost the trademark SR20 lumpy sound. Similar thing happened when I put a big high mount turbo on my old RB25, it lost the sound we all know to be an RB.
So I'm thinking the sounds of these engines are largely a result of the unmatched lengths of the headers...
I wouldnt call it slow, as the tracks we have in Japan dont have VHT, so in this case were still in street legal class, so are running 17" wheels with MT radials. Although the car could be quicker I will say that. There are a few low 9sec SRs in Japan, although they are diferent class, and power on all is 100hp up at the least, all of them are running drag radials due to no vht and lack of weight over the rear.
Can you host a vid of 10 sec with only 450hp? I really wat to see because I find it a bit hard to believe. I have seen many sr20 runs with many differnt power ratio's but no 10 second quatermiles with that low hp.
Yes its SR20, the crank is normal so are conrods, everything else is changed. so far the engine has lasted 5 years without being overhauled, our last SR20 was identical to this, same power and ran the same time, but lasted 7 years before overhaul, then in 2008 the conrod gave way (normal conrod) and it put 2 holes in the block. Now the engine has been rebuilt to 2.2ltr and has been specially sleaved, the dyno showed over 850hp, but we maxed out the efficency of the injectors and idle fuel press

Why did he leave the e-brake on while running down the track then all of a sudden relieve the e-brake after he finished his time on the track?

MrOpoooooooooooooooo 5 months ago
@MrOpoooooooooooooooo I don't know, perhaps those who wonder how fast their cars can go? There is nothing 'redneck' about drag racing, retard.

every person that owns or has owned an s13 knows that the handbrake doesnt start workin till its almost at the top..
helvek 1 year ago
@helvek that's only true with old brake pads, a maxed out cable and a user who doesn't know how to use a 10mm spanner to tighten it

@RS13Racer pretty impressive for a person who uploads a video of a fastback and puts "silvia" in the title.

@helvek And what if the fastback is also called silvia in the benelux ? (where i live)

I have a question is the 10.0 CM Greddy T67-25G kit somewhat equivalent to a garrett gt3071r or gt3076r?. I think t78 is too laggy
markmorrow8o 2 years ago
@markmorrow8o T78 is fine when put on a hard tuned SR20, Japan has 8sec SR20 silvias running 2.1ltr / 9,500rpm with HKS T51R turbo.

damn ....nice you went 5 year before it got overhualed running that much power
