I actually like the green wings, as well as the funky-retro-festive interior. Looks like that flight was a light one that day....more empty seats than passengers.
most western aircraft (probably 737 and after, A320 and after E170/190 that kind of thing) are put into the upright position for takeoff and landing (and turn around). The Upright position is as far forward as they go. 727 though may well be different being an earlier aircraft. Tu154 is of similar vintage in design.

most western planes pax seats only lean back, not forwards. Helps you lean back, rather than get caught with your head between your knees.

All aircraft seats lean forward-some to a degree others like this go all the way. I remember 727 brace positions involve putting the seat forwards:)
