@dstrong1337 the hand pulling the trigger would be the only one capable of getting up there, and if it were up there, the trigger wouldn't be getting pulled.
@perkalator104 it probably half cocked when he pulled the trigger while the slide was moving forward, hence the hammer stopping short of the firing pin.
everyone bump fires once....then you realize it was kinda cool, sounded great, but felt horrible in terms of safety, accuracy, and control...........and lord knows the antis will try to say every semi is a full auto as surely crazies will use bump-fire to go on killing sprees. good vid
@Lopez4848 I'm no expert, but a bump fire is pretty much just using the recoil of the gun to pull the trigger. You would normally aim, and squeeze the trigger, but instead you still either your thumb or trigger/index finger against the trigger and push the gun forward. When it goes off you use the recoil to recover into another shot and can actually be faster than most fully automatic weapons.
why does every idiot try to use the backside of there thumb to bump a gun? your thumb is weak in that position, just use your weak hand trigger finger and lock your elbow to your side. easy peasy.
@mbsmith8684 I know, I wrecked my pistol, shot myself, and 2 random people on my property. Oh wait none of that happened, my gun still runs 100% and has a very smooth action. I'm going to assume you can read, so next time when you are looking for a video, read the title, if you don't like it, don't click it. I have a good day.
@Halvorson LMFAO If you look up on your screen a bit you will see a comment of YOURS where you imply that the fact that your gun works fine means this wasn't a bad idea.
@pleasereason You implied that it would cause my gun to explode. Which there is no way this would cause it to explode any more then shooting it regular. I also had other points in that comment about how there was nothing in the direction I was shooting. So what exactly was your point?
@Halvorson No, I didn't imply that at all. You know that I didn't. You are trying to pigeonhole my statement into an absurd comment. You made the statement that because your gun functioned fine after this, and because no one was injured, this isn't a bad idea. My point was that the lack of damage/injury is entirely irrelevant to the stupidity of this action. I just explained this in the below comment. You are a tool. Grow the fuck up and stop playing with weapons.
@Halvorson the only possible "justification" you could give for this is that it's fun. but something being fun has never been a logical justification. regardless of what you would like to convince yourself of, the lack of control you can possibly have in doing something like this makes it dangerous. since there is not a single good reason to do this, AND since it's dangerous, it's fucking stupid. as a gun owner you have an obligation to not be a jackass. either way, you are losing this one.
@pleasereason There you go, should've started with that argument, much better. You can use the next comment to explain how dangerous it was, even though you know nothing about the area I was in at the time I was doing this. Unless you think I could've shot myself, but that wouldn't be possible, for the gun to turn around on me, i would no longer be pushing forward with my right hand (which was causing the trigger to pressed).
@Halvorson i did. in the comment below i did explain. and your little breakdown of the "only possible" way that you can accidentally shoot yourself with this is one dimensional and stupid. the gun rotates on the vertical axis in a way that allows that to happen. it's not hard to imagine your right hand pushing/slipping forward, pushing the muzzle up. with you countering the motion with your left thumb, this would actually make it more likely. it's actually pretty simple, like your mind.
@pleasereason It actually rotates round the lateral axis, yaw motion would be around the vertical axis. So you think pushing forward into the thumb will cause the gun to rotate around the thumb and point at the shooter? Your wrist would have to disconnect. Your explanation was pretty bad though. Another thing to think, put your arms straight forward, bend your elbows and wrists backwards. I'm not very flexible I admit, a gun would not fit in between my hands and face.
@Halvorson actually yes- in the 1980s- the federal bureau of investigation (f.b.i.) actually made a full auto submachine gun like version with a alluminum stock and a 25 round stick magazine- or 20 round magazine- similar to the .45 acp thompson- the gun had many malfunction and mass production never came of it
@Halvorson Define "real 1911". The parts aren't interchangeable, but then 1911 parts aren't generally drop-in in the first place. Kimbers aren't "real 1911s" either, doncha know. That doesn't stop 99% of people from calling them that.
@marshaul it doesn't have a grip safety, it has an external extractor. When I read about them, people call them 1911-inspired firearms, but don't refer to it as a 1911.
@cwross1976 contrary to your belief they actually made one stock. very very rare. and sometimes asked from the shop custom. wasnt like a big thing because noone would want to deal with 45 slap full auto in a pistols form
I still dont know why so many people gotta put thumbs down or straight up haterize people, its home videos, and this guy said hes sharing his first bumpfire online, thats pretty tight dude.
Nowhere in this video does the OP claim to be "trying to achieve a high degree of accuracy" or "trying to take down a man-sized target at 20 meters" or anything else. He is merely experimenting with the bump-fire concept, in a safe area where his bullets won't cause harm. Who honestly cares what he does with his own firearms? Based on his responses to comments, he is clearly an intelligent and reasonable individual. Everyone who whines about this needs to lighten the fuck up.
I cannot believe the level of idiocy reached in the comments on this video. First of all, a large number of people need to learn to read the description and maybe check out a few comments before asking the same stupid questions over and over again. Second, everyone who keeps saying that "bump firing has no purpose" needs to GTFO. It's the same as saying "burnouts have no purpose" in reference to cars. That is mostly true, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun.
@kingtaythe2 The original ones were fully automatic but people apparently were unable to control them well enough so they were switched to semi automatic. I believe I read this in the Army handbook for the 1911.
You know. A simple alteration to a specific part can make that thing go full auto as well. Not going to say which part or how to modify it for obvious reasons.
@rvndmnmt yeah, I'm pretty sure id be able to, but its not worth the 10 years in prison. If i get the urge to go full auto ill just visit the range 15 min away with a wall full of them to rent haha.
Everyone needs to stop crying if he wants to bumpfire then don't cry about it just don't watch the video.I thought it looked like it would be fun to try.
@hammerogod Actually I doubt very seriously that anyone who buys a Colt 1911 themself would even think of bumpfiring it. Obviously this kid is ruining his dads guns for him.
@Stylensky That IS my gun, and I did pay for it. the gun is going through the same motions as it would if you fired it that many times in a row, the only extra wear would be the barrel heating up, and seeing as that was the only time I've ever done it, I don't think I have much to worry about.
Now I am sure you read the title to the video, so why did you click on it if you are so against it? Or is that what you do on your free time, find videos you don't like, and insult the poster.
Since I know that bump firing is not what the manufacturer designed the gun for nor is it a useful practice I just commented so that someone else might see utter pointlessness of exceeding the normal operating scope of what is one of the best firearms ever built.
I really don't care if you bury it in a mud puddle and drive over it with a bulldozer.
I only hope that MOST people will see that it is a useless, potentially dangerous practice
for all you retards that dont know what your talking about hes shaking because he is trying to bump fire a pistol, and hes using his thumb because its easier to try and bump fire any firearm with a more stable digit, EG a thumb. Also somthing was mentioned it was -15? i dont care if your prepared for -100, thats still fucking cold. quit crying
instead of all these stupid "bump fire" videos why dont ppl just learn trigger control then they can rapid fire with accuracy. i dont get what the point of "bump firing" is
its not about why its about being an American and being able to do anything you want as long as you remain safe and others are safe. People died for the rights of things like this to be done. It leads to talking, and leads to ideas, which leads to inventions! Nice video! Let me borrow that 1911 for a while...I'll polish the sear so much it WILL be full auto lol.
@MerchantOfDeath15 - they must be funding health care with the educational budget. your spelling clearly shows that you have paid for your low cost health care. canada should be safer with all of the ridiculous gun laws. i dont know why, but much of the time when i see a troll on youtube they are from canada. i have nothing against canadians, but banning you all from this site would instantly cut trolling in half.
@TheKobraKommander Smart people should also understand that not everyone has the choice to just move wherever they want.
And you'd be a bitch if you couldn't handle -40C, not smart. My cousins are 4 and 1 years old, and they don't give a shit if it's -40C as long as they can go sledding.
@ImTheBatchMan Well they live probably 50 feet from the park at their house and when they go to our grandparents there's a hill in the backyard to sled on... They never spend more than 20 minutes out in 40C weather and they're always covered head to toe.
i know a guy that did this all the time with his 45 and slipped up and his thump slipped out and put a nice hole through the back of his hand he had 2 fingers amputated
@ccxx1234 There was no safety issues, there is nothing for miles in that direction. So what is so bad about it that I shouldn't be able to hold a firearm. Did you see the title when you clicked the link? So if you don't have anything better to do other than troll, then You sir shouldn't be allowed to possess, use, or hold a computer.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Halvorson Because this is fucking stupid, WAYY too much recoil, thus making the prupose obsolete, as you could not possibly aim accurately while doing so.
"you sir shouldn't be allowed to possess, shoot or hold a firearm."
@Chronabislolol Your point is, because I cannot shoot it accurately? I know a lot of people shooting normal, who can't do it accurately. Does that mean they shouldn't be able to hold one either? And this is my page, so you can get out. You all need to stop crying, and move on with your life. There was no harm done in the making of this video.
@musardus Because if your able to do it right, it feels like fully automatic. Some people enjoy that feeling. I for one do, although I rarely ever bump-fire, because I also enjoy the sport of shooting accurately, which is cheaper, and doesn't wear a gun out as fast.
@LieutenantIDan doubt that very much, you would have to be pulling the gun, instead of pushing it, if it were to turn all the way back at you. If there really was that much recoil the gun would go above my head too, not at my face.
@Halvorson@LiuetenantlDan Ok I'm half asleep, I dont know what I was thinking, you wouldn't be pulling it, you would still be pushing the gun. So i guess if you were super flexible, it would be possible. But with a .45 you would have to be weak, and like i previously stated, flexible.
It's much more fun with a commercial AK, or an AR-15... But you should put your thumb in your belt loop, and pull your arm back, reducing the chance of... Accidents...
@tabguy14 I have another vid where I tried it with my AK. It was my second time doing it, the first time I didnt film and it went much better. I feel more uncomfortable doing the belt loop style way with a pistol. And I really dont feel like there was much chance for accident this way anyway. With both of those guns Ive only done it a couple times, so I never got good at it. Its just one of those things I wanted to try, but wont do again because its too expensive haha.
@scandmx5atl the closest thing u get to automatic fire w/o living in a fun red state :D.... i live in commifornia so bumb fire is all i can do :c no mags holding more than 10 rounds, no barrel shorter than 20inches er so, no .50, no automatic, no concealed carry w/o an "authorized/passed" permit, no mods to weapons, no incinderary, no AP rounds, no tracers, no belt fed, no burst, etc... lol democrat states suck ass!
@SuperSneakySniper you would love the state of GA. as long as you're not a felon you can have a locked and loaded conceal permit, autos with fed stamp, 25+ round mags, a freind of mine owns a class 3 gun store- supressors and such if that's your thing

@MerchantOfDeath15 we americans laugh at canadians.. sorry had to say it
TheRiggenbach 10 months ago
@TheRiggenbach o well Canada is safer than america and we have much less expencive health care
MerchantOfDeath15 10 months ago
@MerchantOfDeath15 true. glad i'm in the marines. all the health care and insurance u can stand for free.
TheRiggenbach 10 months ago
@MerchantOfDeath15 - they must be funding health care with the educational budget. your spelling clearly shows that you have paid for your low cost health care. canada should be safer with all of the ridiculous gun laws. i dont know why, but much of the time when i see a troll on youtube they are from canada. i have nothing against canadians, but banning you all from this site would instantly cut trolling in half.

Seems like you've got a much less effective schooling system as well, if your own posts are anything to go by.

@Halvorson You realize -15F is only -26C, right?
-30C to -40C is pretty common here in Ontario. You don't know cold.

@twizz420 lol i like it when people brag about how much it sucks where they live
kalashnikov0906 10 months ago
@kalashnikov0906 yeah true hahaha... you'd think it'd be the other way around?
twizz420 10 months ago
@twizz420 We beat our British oppressors early on so we didn't have to settle for living in
an arctic wasteland. You guys brag about the cold like its a badge of honor. Smart people
live in more human friendly environments.
TheKobraKommander 10 months ago
@TheKobraKommander Smart people should also understand that not everyone has the choice to just move wherever they want.
And you'd be a bitch if you couldn't handle -40C, not smart. My cousins are 4 and 1 years old, and they don't give a shit if it's -40C as long as they can go sledding.
twizz420 10 months ago
@twizz420 I bet they don't go sledding in -40C unless they have about 5 layers on. They would get frostbite so easily in that weather.
ImTheBatchMan 10 months ago
@ImTheBatchMan Well they live probably 50 feet from the park at their house and when they go to our grandparents there's a hill in the backyard to sled on... They never spend more than 20 minutes out in 40C weather and they're always covered head to toe.

you sir shouldn't be allowed to possess, shoot or hold a firearm.
ccxx1234 1 year ago
@ccxx1234 There was no safety issues, there is nothing for miles in that direction. So what is so bad about it that I shouldn't be able to hold a firearm. Did you see the title when you clicked the link? So if you don't have anything better to do other than troll, then You sir shouldn't be allowed to possess, use, or hold a computer.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
@Halvorson Because this is fucking stupid, WAYY too much recoil, thus making the prupose obsolete, as you could not possibly aim accurately while doing so.
"you sir shouldn't be allowed to possess, shoot or hold a firearm."
This is a VERY, VERY accurate statement.
Get the fuck out, in other words.
Chronabislolol 1 year ago
@Chronabislolol Your point is, because I cannot shoot it accurately? I know a lot of people shooting normal, who can't do it accurately. Does that mean they shouldn't be able to hold one either? And this is my page, so you can get out. You all need to stop crying, and move on with your life. There was no harm done in the making of this video.

@Shinymew12 no, It uses recoil. Luckily you can buy a full auto airsoft gun!
Halvorson 1 year ago 8
@Shinymew12 why dont u ask ur dad to buy u one. Im 13 and hav like 30 guns.
jam9297 1 year ago
@Shinymew12 You can, buy those recoil-action type airsoft pistol, entry level enough for youngsters but won't blown your wallet that much.
Still, if you're underage, better do so with adult supervision, and do it outdoor...
MwRYum 1 year ago
@Shinymew12 Maybe with one that has simulated recoil...

whats the point of bump firing????
musardus 1 year ago
@musardus Because if your able to do it right, it feels like fully automatic. Some people enjoy that feeling. I for one do, although I rarely ever bump-fire, because I also enjoy the sport of shooting accurately, which is cheaper, and doesn't wear a gun out as fast.

I'd be careful if i were you, my dad's classmate did this and blew his head off when he was in highschool.
LieutenantIDan 1 year ago
@LieutenantIDan doubt that very much, you would have to be pulling the gun, instead of pushing it, if it were to turn all the way back at you. If there really was that much recoil the gun would go above my head too, not at my face.
Halvorson 1 year ago
@Halvorson @LiuetenantlDan Ok I'm half asleep, I dont know what I was thinking, you wouldn't be pulling it, you would still be pushing the gun. So i guess if you were super flexible, it would be possible. But with a .45 you would have to be weak, and like i previously stated, flexible.

It's much more fun with a commercial AK, or an AR-15... But you should put your thumb in your belt loop, and pull your arm back, reducing the chance of... Accidents...
tabguy14 1 year ago

SuperSneakySniper 1 year ago
@SuperSneakySniper you would love the state of GA. as long as you're not a felon you can have a locked and loaded conceal permit, autos with fed stamp, 25+ round mags, a freind of mine owns a class 3 gun store- supressors and such if that's your thing
