  • If Billy had been properly managed, instead of being treated as a money box by Larry Parnes He would have been a Superstar.

He would have been playing in Vegas instead of Cinema's and grotty Dancehalls in this country.

  • @orriblebob In his day, Billy Fury WAS a superstar. We shouldn't be TOO hard on Larry Parnes, as he did give him his first break, and everyone was exploited then (and now). Elvis was THE superstar, and his manager was not only a crook, but a useles crook who totally mismanaged all his acts. (Not sure if Elvis could have been much bigger, but he should have been much richer). I think Billy Fury's biggest problem was poor health. But hey, let's just enjoy the music of both these sreat singers.

  • Great tribute, had I seen this clip without any script, I could have believed it was HIM, well maybe questioned it.

  • better than Elvis...come on!!!!

  • Hey folks try my version of this song at ljkinsey's channel youtube and critique for me.

    Larry Kinsey

  • I think this is his best song.

  • I just wanted to say thanks for keeping Billy still in our thoughts Your the best voice -like I have heard . Billy I'm sure is proud but, Billy was and is still the greatest He is still loved by so many fans. LOVE YOU BILLY.

  • Go and watch this show whenever I can.

Stockport next, any body know any thing about the Northwich show.

  • stockport plaza 30th september 2010

  • tis a great show to see......great tribute to BILLY

  • He looks like Freddie Starr

  • great--yes-

  • Saw Colin and Furys Tornados in this show 5 times over the last few years, absolutely the biz, here saltomjack, get your self to this show, you will be wonderfully surprised how fantastic these guys are, their keeping Billy's music alive, go see the show for yourself, Colin your a star, there is only one Billy Fury, but see the show and you will know there is only one Colin Gold, he's that good!!

  • I love this song. it's great!

  • Good, well done...

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • Colin and the band are excellent.

  • this isn't about conway twitty (even though he's pretty cool) this is the billy fury story version of the song and musically is fantastic! rock on......

  • True, he is not Conway, Moxie, or even Sammy, but he always tried very hard to overcome his limitations. God bless all those that tried like Billy did even if it didn't always work out in other forms and events for him like it did for some others who never even knew how and why???

  • no he is no Conway, he is impersonating billy fury that's why :-l lol

  • he is no conway!!

  • He isn't meant to be Conway :-/

  • two right he's better

  • conwaws is good ,but i think incredible is stretching it a bit

  • Sorry but the Conway live version of this is Incredible!.

  • check out Robert Gordon's version, It's only make believe. Conway wrote it, but RG version is worth checking out.

  • It can be checked out at a library or other bookish type place that might also have music or cookies. At least sometimes, if not.

  • damn it ,i cant stop coming back to listen to this song,,,,,i wish it was full lengh ,,i like glenn campbells and billy furys version ,but this one does it for me,,,,,conways version doesnt cut it compared to this one

  • On 10 May, 1960 Billy Fury was a singing star managed by Larry Parnes. On that day an audition was held for a backing band on a british tour and one group, The Silver Beetles, failed the audition. John, Paul,George,Stuart and stand-in drummer Johnny Hutchinson lost the chance to back Fury.Their regular drummer at the time,Tommy Moore, arrived late but played anyway. The inonies of life, that group turned out to be The Beatles!!

  • They didn't fail the audition. They were accepted if they would fire Stu Sutcliffe and John said No.

  • australia is a great place to live,BUT we miss out on so much real talent ,i would pay anything to see a show like this out here ......HEY ,COLIN come out to melbourne australia and play at the crown casino ,PLEEEEEESE

  • its good this lad is a fan of billys and due to this he helps to remind just how great a singer billy was

  • not as good as billy but the best out there

  • damn that was good,, cant say ive heard of him , but wow can this guy sing, great [better than twittys version, which i reckon is overated]

  • Great cover by somebody that appreciates Billy!

Not as good as Billy, but credit for trying! At least they're both better than Conway.

Not that I dislike Conway, he was fantastic, but this song was much better by Billy

  • what a great singer every thing he sang superb

  • Damn. No way, no how would I remark dably about this man. Great job. Great performance. Conway I m sure would have given a thumbs up.

  • pompadore

  • watched this show on the liverpool empire a few years ago, awsome.if i remember so i think the guy on the guitar played with the origanal billy fury in his group.

  • The whole band are original members of Furys Tornados, the outfit that backed billy right through the 70's

  • A little known fact about Billy is that before the Tornados, when Billy was looking for a backing group, the Beatles auditioned, but were turned down :s

If the Beatles hadn't have gotten big, Billy would be twice as big. He didn't get the credit he deserved because of them.

  • Hi Omadeyematt0 I'm not a fan of the Beatles, but cannot knock success & have had more than their Share. But do not understand your Logic Billy Fury would have been twice as big if not for Beatles. Billy Fury was THE BEST UK Ballad Singer & difficult to class him as Rock n Roll. But Nearest UK ever got to Elvis Ballad Elvis was way ahead of the rest. Big O had the Voice. Jerry Lee for Rock n Roll Billy Fury is & his music will continue to be Remembered Cheers The Forever Teddyboy
  • this geezer is a proper singer.i,m gonna have to look him up.

  • Love billy fury,s music alway's will he was a legend

  • no its not billy...but good effort anyway.

  • great show

  • Thats a very good tribute to the man who himself was often classed better than Elvis - and quite rightly so in my opinion

  • @paulpowell3540 You can't compare anyone to ELVIS..ELVIS was one of a kind...THE KING !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @paulpowell3540

Nobody is classed better than Elvis. Hence why he's the King....

  • @tk3302 ooohhh check history in the last 50 years you will find my friend that this guy was doing the dowdy gigs and dance halls trying to make a name for himself in his own right.....nobody bought it ....then the sucess story of the king, elvis came about and hey presto some management team picked billy and jumped on the band wagon......but beleive it he really was the british king of rock

  • @paulpowell3540 Thats the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard! I love Billys music, and he was great, uniquely great in fact, no doubt about it. His voice was rich, songs beautifully dramatic, and he looked awesome too. Likewise, ive seen this show several times and Colin plays an awesome part; but to say that Billy was often classed better than Elvis, c'mon, are you serious? lol. Ill bet if youd said that to Billy hed have been embarrased with humility and respect for 'The King'

  • I have seen this show twice and it was great.I never saw billy but love his music

  • billy had rhematic fever when a child that left him with a weak heart, and god chose to take a star young but what a star.

  • That's never Billy Fury. His voice was weak at the best , that singer has a good voice.

  • Great cover

  • Where is Billy Fury from? Wasn't he a contemporary of the Beatles and didn't they know each other back in the day?

  • Billy was from Liverpool, He actually turned down an offer from ther beatles to be his backing band!

  • That seems to ring a bell now. I think I remember reading something about a guy by the name of Parnes arranging this tour and the Beatles trying out (as one of the back up bands) and getting rejected. I think the Beatles toured Scotland instead with someone named Johnny Gentle. I also remember Paul McCartney discussing this (and how the name "Gentle" was a sharp contrast to some of the other Liverpool stage names of that era like Billy "Fury" and Rory Storm and the "Hurricanes").

  • That was pretty good who ever was singing it. Conway Twitty is one of the best & I am happy that his music is still living on.

  • u have a great voice this song is one of my favs thanks for sining it so nice xxxx

  • Don't think Billy was on This is your life in the nineties, he died in 1983, but was on Marty Wilde's one in 1982.

  • yep i saw on this is your life as he was cool billy
