  • awsome

  • eigenwilligste, expressivste Einsamkeit mit so wenig Tönen - eine Wahlverwandschaft beyond words that gives me strenght. Thanks Scott!

  • Download the audio from this vid at tubepull doht cohm.

  • Love this. I wonder....was this inspired by Devendra Banhart? Seems a bit like it!

  • @raakone I don't think thats likely. Scott walker was working on the material for this album a couple years before devandra banharts first release. I think his influences are found more in noises and orchestrations

  • WTF!? O_O

  • People say that he sings different now, but if you listen to "Angels of Ashes" after this you realize that it´s exactly the same voice as 40 years ago.

  • yes... this album is one of the most beautiful ,haunting and deep albums i've listened. This album could be the soundtrack of my psycho-nightmares... It reaches the subconscious....

  • Fabulous music, fabulous artist, I say.

  • This album is scarier than any horror movie I've seen in a looong time.

  • wonderful

  • @HALFSQUASHED Do not question Scott Walker, you're brain is the size of a fucking pea compared to him, and you will never have the musical talent he has in 20 lifetimes. You say it's pointless? Everything is pointless, even your ignorant response.

  • @HALFSQUASHED firstly, you are no where near qualified to tell Scott Walker what to put in a fucking song, and what belong there or not. Secondly, I am no where near a sheep at all, I get irked when snots like you even think you are qualified to ever tell someone like Scott, what belongs in a song, and what doesn't. I mean, the fucking nerve of you. As far as being a smartass? Nah, you are just a punk with a big mouth and no talent, so shut your cunt.

  • SILENCE!!! bawbag

  • brilliant

  • pst pst pst! PST!

  • why do you want to understand the lyrics? brian eno once put it well when he said that nobody is asking what the music might mean...

i think you can't really explain a feeling which is what those lyrics are truely about.

  • Its brilliant. Its art.

Just because you dont get it, doesnt mean its not good.

And canarvonkid, what do you like? Brittney?

  • Never said it was bad, I just wanted somebody to help me understand the lyrics.

  • WTF is this even about? The lyrics are so vague

  • brilliant... beautiful song... remember, the album it´s called "The Drift", not "How to be happy in 30 minutes"...

  • pst....pst pst haha

  • So beautyfull and unique! thank you!

  • Everything is within reach, how transcendent.

  • Excellent

  • this is my favorite song off the drift.

    i think.

  • man, this is sick!

  • Please shut the fuck up.

  • This is brilliant!

  • Class.

  • Hmmmmm. What has happened to Scott?

  • as usual, brilliance, of course.

  • @musicenvy1

    Maybe he had an evolution???

  • Get me my downers, get me my uppers.

Turn out the lights, close all the shutters.

heat up the needle, harpoon the vein,

Help me to cope , with a world gone insane.

chained to the darkness,I know I'm a slave,

Only 39 steps till I;m up from the grave.

Drifting and Tilting, sifting and wilting,

No more petals on this flower.

This is the hour. This is the hour!

  • Haha, I sort of realised it after I got halfway through and saw the Drift album cover. Still, sweet! I'm going to that "Drifting and Tilting:The Songs of Scott Walker" show in London...can't wait.

  • very depressing atmosphere but a its a great song

  • nice to see something from The Drift! thank you.
