  • @tigerfred53 The original is by crazy horse, search it, its worth it.

  • These two should have been up there with the Beatles.-------------------------Pity that Ben took ill and Tracey had to care for him which was the reason they had to disband.

  • Such a great song and a class act.

  • god why are you people so critical... it's a beautiful song, her voice is fantastic, who gives a s**t if she's not the fittest bird, id still bang me bloke to it... OOOOOSSSSHHHHHHH!!!

  • Uff she was really sooo ugly

  • @tinotrivino You shouldn't listen to music with your penis.

  • @uTubeNoITube lol i am agree :)

  • lipstick on a pig

  • they are actually a r/l couple so here's hoping they reform as a band one day..they had a nice sound..even though I prefer Danny Whitten of Crazy Horse's version. Well he did pen a great song.:))

  • Modern Music Mirrors Modern Life perfectly; a quick buck and a flash outfit - but no attention to lasting quality or beauty. Tragic; Sad; Vacuuous; Superficial. - just a few adjectives.

  • this version is so much better than that croaky voiced has been in leopard skin pants (rod stewart).

  • Totally fantastic version of this very very beautiful song? It's such a shame that we don't have talented groups around these days to watch & listen to.the only thing we get to watch & listen to is that xfactor bollocks & britains got no talent shite.I mean let's face it they walk on stage & start f.....g crying about their sorry life & that it's their dream to be a star but most of them can't even play any instruments or even sing can they? Bring back the 80s for f..k sake as life was so much

  • I love this song !!!...

  • beautiful amazing track

  • Does anybody know the song they did thats a slow tune, the lyrics or line in it and towards the end were either "you'll never - you'll never - you'll never learn" or "you'll never love"...It came out after "Driving" did - it may have even been on the same album. But I used to hear it on the adult contemporary jazz stations here in the bay area back in the '90's. Any info you have please share. Thanks!!!

  • just brilliant brings back memories

  • Classic song!!

  • She sounds a bit retarded. Looks it too.

  • @imowtflol you really made me smile a lot... it's true, exactly, what you say... but great, i was thinking the same

  • Why do people think this is their song?

    this is Rod Stewart's :P

  • @TheQueenKoKo

It's actually by Danny Whitten, famous for playing with Neil Young in Crazy Horse.

  • @TheQueenKoKo yea we know, but Tracy sings it better.

  • sublime :o)

  • They should now call the SO CALLED 'Brit Awards the 'S*** Awards.'

  • Sensacional!! Salve Anos 80!

  • A beautifully well written song! Ebtg really got it together on this fine album. Also Amplified Heart is a fav!

  • @jameskparos Yes! One of my fave bands.

  • simpler and better times when to me apple and balckberry were only fruits!

  • As wonderful as ever it was - I bought the 12" at the time.

  • Absoluetly beautifiul. 42 idiots dont know what real music is.

  • sadly it was knocked down to make room for a hotel :(

  • She has a beautifully unique voice and in this video some rather cute "cat like" eyes and other features. They've a rather mellow and soothing sound I'd say...

  • What do you mean its had its time..? So only songs from the last 5 years are any good.. ? And since did it matter how you long to be a good singer (look at Elton John) Her voice is just dripping with emotion x

  • :D

  • sylvester stallone's twin love her voice though

  • made by "Crazy Horse", in 1971...

  • In the night it makes you fly....

  • One of the new bands of the 80`s that was recognized by this romantic song....

  • Love the their interpretation but most of all,,,,,I miss those clean cut looks of the 90s and the hairstyles of the era.

  • covers tend to be a poor imitation, this isnt, its excellent and a beautiful voice

  • LISP OR NO LISP SHE IS JUST THE BOMB GOT A MEAN VOICE LADY WELL DONE.

  • I suddenly have an urge to make out with Sylvester Stallone.

  • muito linda.........

  • Very Good Rene e Olga 2011

  • A beautiful version of the song

  • ah, such a great song

  • 23 years old? WTF!!! Where did that go?!

  • @jazzdrum100 I know, right? LOL

  • I love Everything but the girl

  • this song is so touching!

  • A truly amazing voice!!!

  • thank you Danny Whitten.

  • I just loveeeeee this band.I saw them once live in the Netherlands..AMAZINGGGGG!!!! Never heard a band that can make a sad song sound soooo beautifull!!!! Love and peace for all you music lovers all over the planet!!Ron.

  • this version is ok but Rod Stewart is the only one that can nail it !

  • @kisauktak please take a minute or two to listen to the original version by danny whitten- who wrote it. to me its the best performance of the song- you won't be dissapointed. i do have a tremedous amount of respect for rod covering it though....

  • hse always looks like shes got sad puppy dog eyes thnaks

  • esta version es muy buena tambien!

  • You can tell this world is really f*cked up when "artists" like Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas are so influential in society and bands like Everything But the Girl (although disbanded) have minimal impact. This music is truly BEAUTIFUL.

  • @davidnzs it had its time mate..she looks scary though

  • @davidnzs Yes, the media/music industry really fills us with noise or lifeless sounds. But so it happened back in the past, perhpas in lesser scale, because we could also reach less ... But right now as back then it's just a matter as @silvershinysparkles says of listening carefully... It's always around us....Just listen and share....

  • Comment removed

  • @davidnzs perhaps their music is truly beautifull, but her face is truly not. think about that.

  • @davidnzs music's good but the singer's a dog.

  • @davidnzs That is probably true to a point, but don't forget that much of the music from Everything But the Girl and some of the other artists that were similar to them in the late-1980's would influence what music many artists or bands would record in the 1990's. Sometimes things also run in cycles, so I'm hoping as people, especially young musicians, rediscover much of these nearly forgotten (but obviously as is the case that both of us are finding them, they aren't forgotten) that the

  • @sneeyize45 not as great from Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas (uh? Justin Beiber) will be just that a passing fad that didn't amount to much and should not have amounted to much.

  • @davidnzs Don't worry.EBTG gave an good impact even on Japanese like me.Good things may prevail slowly but certainly.

  • @davidnzs cos she`s a munter with a lissspp

  • or anywhere in Canada

  • Why make an issue of the influences of modern music. As long as it's all positive? I recently saw Lady Gaga talking about how she wants to give all positive influences to her following fans. Which i would imagine for the most part would be the young and impressionable youth of today. So let them work together in promoting tolerance and equality. In the meantime enjoy this music for being a beautiful song.

  • me justa estacion pero rod stewart ... lo canta .. con el corazon .. ?

  • A monumental song in my life. Amazing how I use to seek solace with this song. The memory is still there but the pain is gone.

  • i still love you

  • so... so.. many remembries!! missed them too many times wish they would make another try

  • Funny thing is that Tracey Horn became lead singer by accident. The original singer was a guy who quit the group. The others who were in the band at the time asked her to sing and when she refused, they talked her into it by saying "Of course you're good enough. All women can sing." The rest was history.

  • there's something very innocent about this song/video, especially when you consider how much they changed during the 90s. you can tell that they had no idea how much they were going to transform their sound and image in the future.

    fascinating group.

  • her eyes are sort of close together, and the guy's eyes are sort of far apart

  • I used to listen this song with my mother

  • They weren't successful - because like my other favourites prefab sprout - they aren't arrogant (or have one eyebrow -get the drift?) or cocky enough. The Music press in particular seem to like mouthy opinionated bands/singers. Tracey isn't pretending to be a model she is a singer/songwriter.

  • she has a sad face

  • Crimen Solliciatationis

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • lovely to hear this song again. Thank you for posting.

    Ian

  • Good stuff!!!! I just discovered this song. These guys are really, really good ! <3 <3

  • Jesus! I never Knew that Rodney from Only Fools and Horses was a Tranny. Nice voice mind you. Shame about the lippy. Wonder if Del knows??? Multi talented that Nicholas Lyndhurst, fair play.

  • @Harleybun Cruel... but hilarious. Top work, mate!

  • @Harleybun Nasty.... but funny!

  • The peter beardsly of pop

  • I suppose it's too much to ask for this in HD?

  • love this song! i heard this song around 1979 in the philippines, the rod stewart's version! then learned to sing it with a guitar. rod stewart rerecorded it, but i like or prefer his first, or the original recording of it. this cover by 'everything but the girl' is not bad at all either. the melody of this song is just great! thanks! :)

  • She is like Susan Boyle in her own way, sure she is not an all american, long glossy blonde haired beach babe, but she has something pretty about her. and that voice is pure beauty!

  • @SweetSesatia she wasn't afraid to go on stage, to be the front of her band and face people's prejudices about how a singer should look like, so she really isn't anything like Susan Boyle.

Otherwise I agree with you on the part about her voice.

  • who gives a fig about looks...great song.ugly twat ha

  • well said leejunfan

  • Bought the album "Idelwild" on cassette back in the 80's on the strength of this song and played it so much it broke.

It's a beautiful rendering of a song that still moves me tears.

  • I personally like her with no make up at all, she is gorgeous.

  • belissima canção

  • beauty is in the eye of the beholder. we are all different yet the same, learn to see the inner beauty and the person, not just whats on the outside. until we all learn this there will always be prejudice and war, we are all human beings and nothing else.

  • go away my sweet dom you are not sweet at all we dont want to hear your horrible comments your just a jelous little silly immature shallow girl who has no friends probably cause you are so nasty well go away we dont care what you think horrible little harpy and you are probably jelous of everything but girl because she can sing and you can only dream of having the heart to sing so smooth and pure

  • @natalieholroyd well said ;)

  • go away my sweet dom you are not sweet at all we dont want to hear your horrible comments your just a jelous little silly immature shallow girl who has no friends probably cause you are so nasty well go away we dont care what you think horrible little harpy

  • im just sating it looks like a guy is all....TT-TT

  • love this song. think shes very beautiful in an interesting way.

  • thats a girl?????????????

  • @mysweetdom no it is a pencil...

  • @mysweetdom

    duh. listen to the voice....silly.

  • She looks like Dru Wakely from The Midnight Beast

  • Tracy Thorn kinda looks like Robert Smith in this video. Lol

  • my sister went with a guy the spitting image of this guy, there still together and this was the song of the eightys, hyde park in the summer i never wanted it to end ,oh for those days back again

  • She has this beautifully deep voice...Soulful.

  • @alizstar The original version is by Crazy Horse, and not that talentless twat Rod Stewart.

  • what can i say? this is the best version for me. much better than the original. sorry, Rod

  • This is timeless, her voice is one of the best ever.

  • timeless

  • Yeah, I gotta agree with the quality of her voice, she's amazing to listen to! Just not the easiest on the eyes. Sorry, just sayin'

  • What a classic!

  • Great voice... memories of the past... wonder what they are up to nowadays...

    Greetings from Sicily

  • @Tubeflux what a great song. there music is timeless always.

    Aloha from Maui...

  • she's in the league of amazing artists who have a highly distinctive and unique voice just like Morrissey and Harriet Wheeler of The Sundays.

  • the song speaks for it self an so does her voice. goosebumps

  • tracy thorn has one of the most amazing voices in the music industry, with all the crap in the charts these days, its a crime she isnt more well known...

  • @paulingleby69

Thing is anyone worth their salt knows who Tracy Thorn is . Thankfully to date they have not been cheapened by some bimbo on x factor butchering their stuff .

  • @paulingleby69 of courseit might be that you do not know but everything but the girl have been around a very lo ng time and was indeed very well known WELL she was in my circle of friends at the time I think she stopped performing to raise a family and i think i heard recently that she is to make a long awaited come back glad you like her i supose she still sounds fresh because what she sings about regarding human emotions is of course timeless and yes her voice is indeed amazing x

  • wow... REAL music! please save us from justin bieber and rihanna and all the rest

  • @blancman whishfull thinking

  • FANTASTIC! Questa canzone riesce a farmi sognare......sempre!

  • How it is that Tracy Thorn isn't far more widely acclaimed is beyond my comprehension. That voice...

A mate put me onto EBTG back in the 80's with 'Eden'. After only a couple of minutes listening I realised I'd been introduced to something very special.

  • Comment removed

  • yes it's fantastic, it's easily the best version of the song i think and it reminds me of someone i know who is an incredible lady and one of the most stupendous megababes in the universe

  • Lovely version of a lovely song. The original is by Crazy Horse (written by the late great Danny Whitten). Track 5 on "Crazy Horse" 1971. Rod Stewart covered it on his 1975 album "Atlantic Crossing" track 1 side 2 (slow half).

  • I love her voice...

And this version is even better then the original by Rod Stewart <3

  • bigger space in her teeth than madonna! What a great song though!

  • Pretty she isnt!

    Amazing Song!

  • Original = Crazy Horse

  • Rod Stewart version don't touch this!

  • one of my favourite covers. Thanks.

  • For the life of me I can't work why these people are not Mega Stars. But thats life. They will always be top of my league because of the joy they have brought into my life. Thanks to Everything But the Girl for that but when can you play in Belfast????????????????????????

  • @omoxo1 ye tottaly underated, and btw there leeeeages ahead moust of the so called''music artists'' or today that share the same stile off music!!!

  • @MichaelBlue1990 Shhh, you just used one of the most overused clichés on youtube.

  • @technomoo ye but im i right?

  • @omoxo1 ye i can't believe that to,there sow much better than thse sow called artist these days, which only know how to show there as and tits for sales,oh well well probrably wake up from this artistic bankrupt times one day!

  • @omoxo1 "For the life of me I can't work why these people are not Mega Stars."

answer=justin beaver lady gaga lil wanye and other shetty singers

  • @omoxo1 holler at tracey on twitter @tracey_thorn

  • @omoxo1 Why weren't they mega stars? Because they were boring basically. Their music broke no new ground either.

  • @omoxo1 If they were Mega Stars they wouldn't have any originality and passion in their songs.

I say thank God they are not. Let them be . When mainstream comes, real music turns away...

  • @omoxo1 Its Simple really omoxo. Their music has melody, substance, intellegence and feeling. They are not singing about "Bitches and Hoes" most popular music today can only make it by appealing to the lowest common denomenator and/or IQ. or by being insipid or offensive. You do that by wearing gimmicky costumes (Lady Ga Ga) or be a pre-teen hack Justin Bieber or somemoronic band like Fuck the facts Etc. Etc. Etc.

  • @s2kx2 Simply fine, melodic, well formed, yet..

..very real and very much of this or any time.

  • @omoxo1 i suppose the same reason they wont make it to Columbus Ohio. But that:s OK

  • I grew up with this band shaping my life so much

  • i think if she did her eye brows her face wouldnt look so sad

  • she reminds me of rodney trotter lol

  • @axlcobains

isnt she married to him? think i heard it sumwer wud b odd if it was true

  • @Davejimjr

Yes, she is married with him until today.

  • Facebook | 地球の楽曲 ♫

  • no of fense sorry but something bout her face bothers me same with her voice

  • @shiest4life maybe your falling in love bro... LMFAO Tracey Thorn is a voice from back in the day when the Music still had heart.

  • @shiest4life you don't know my heart so who are you to judge...LMFAO
