When I saw this episode for the first time, I almost punched the TV. After seeing this, I am convinced that Chloe is just about the strongest person in the whole show. I mean, seriously, how did she not kill herself? First, her cousin and best girlfriend disappears, then her husband is killed right in front of her by a man she almost dated, then she was abandoned by Ollie, Dinah and Bart and then Clark tells her that he's dead! What the hell?! How could she even remain upright? GAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

i like to think this is the real "Kal-El" because he said the same thing in season four when Jor-El brain washed him. so its like Clark thinks that he's week and should be what he is a hero. with no love, no friends, no family.

@kellybriannefan27 i don't completely buy that. At the end of last season they were just starting to show their feelings for each other, but they were not dependent on one another yet. He just got over Lana, it will take a while before Lois is everything to him. I think this is just typical Clark behavior after someone dies. He feels responsible for Jimmy's death (possibly blaming Chloe a little bit too) and so he runs away.

I do agree that Jimmy's death was a huge part in him leaving, but in Season 9's Pandora, Clark admits that Lois was the main factor. He said everything reminded him of her and it hurt too much, "I died the day you left". I think once Lois was gone he realized how intense his feelings really were (which shows right away in season 9).

Yeah, you're right. I guess it just seems fast to me. His feelings seemed to intensify 100 fold from the end of season 8 to the beginning of season 9, and maybe I just wasn't ready for such a huge leap.

I don't agree. I think Lois and Clark, well this Lois and Clark has become completely pointless and so fabricated. Chloe and the Justice League are the only think holding the show together for me. Lois and Clark shannagens are driving me up the wall. Why don't the writers give Lois a brain cell or two? So their relationship is a little meaningful and deep. That phonecall I was like are they SERIOUS? Ha!

I love this scene because though its sad Clark is finally accepting who he is. I mean now he knows Kal-El/Superman is his real side and Clark Kent will just be his alter ego, not the other way around. I just wish he would've said after "Clark Kent is dead" something like "My name is Kal-El" or something like that you know? But great scene

Clark is such a jerk in this scene. Chloe just lost EVERYONE because of him, and he just leaves her in her time of need? What kind of a best friend is he? Such a BDA! After this episode, I am done with Smallville. This was the last straw. i think i finally get this scene! i think he flew out of the explosion, but he didnt wanna say or wasnt sure...and then wen he says ck is dead, he doesnt mean completly, its like he is saying he no longer exists, only kalel... which is y they used the sound effect for when lana left for good. Ck left for good, and onw the ck we will see next season is the mask for kalel, the way it is in the mythos.,,any one agree?
