khoo also translitered khor, in Thai script: ขอ , means: ask, ask for, request for. Instead Noi in this case is used to be more polite. Literally is : I ask for = khoo + (what you ask for)+ a little = Noi ,thus "khoo bia noi" , may I have some beer?
Khoo is also used to build the word KhooThot , when you say "sorry or excuse me" khoo = I ask for Thot = punishment
@Prisanapholvatana I enjoy watching her teach also, she is very good, so is it easier to teach German people or someone from an English speaking back ground?
When I first went to Thailand, my first time to try and speak Thai was with the "Kaw.....noi" statmement. I walked into coffeeworld on Sukhimvit and said "Kaw gaafaa dum noi krap" Worked like a charm too hehe.

รู้สึกดี ที่เห็นคนต่างชาติตั้งใจเรียนภาษาไทย ขนาดผมเป็นคนไทยยังไม่ค่อยเก่งเท่าไหร่เลย :)
