In the days when such transmitters were used, a set like that one, connected to a good antenna, had a reliable range of 1000 to 1500 miles on 200 meters.
Spark was outlawed decades ago; the transmitters in the museum feed dummy loads.
And one reason it was oputlawed was that it would splash its signal over a wide swath of the spectrum. By 1923, when the broadcast band extended close to 1400 kHz already (to expand to 1500 by 1925), this thing wouold have wiped ouot the top five or six channels on the AM band with splatter every time it fired up.
