  • i have several of these records, trying to find someone interested in buying them. Going to post on EBay in the next few days. Anyone interested in buying them, send me an email.

  • I have this record, and one source said it was from 1913.

  • Thank you for uploading this video, I used this in a presentation I made about Columbia Records.

  • @plague566 Right on! Super cool, Thanks for sharing that with me. Glad to know that sometimes these can be useful. I could have recorded it directly to MP3 for better sound if you needed it ..

  • @78Revolutions Oh, lord...WHY would you recorded it to MP3? and for GODS sake, don't you think he could have done the same thing? I could have done it as well...and since it's here on youtube, don't you think we could have ALL done it? crap, man.....we don't WANT the "better sound"...we want THE sound of THE ORIGINAL RECORDING, of PURE vinyl, the warmth, the tubes, etc...don't insult our ears with that crap!

  • @78Revolutions Wow, It's nice to see people that are so polite on youtube :)

  • This Columbia advertising record perhaps represents the Columbia Home Record Club at its beginings (Remark, I can be wrong!) if it had begun in this era! Very good collector's artifact!

  • @LHUPA Nah. Im quite certain it is simply an advertising piece, promoting their new double sided records. A neat item indeed. To think that a twi sided record was a big deal at one point in time.

  • Cool das Fontastish !!!

  • Why can't there be a clause for collectors and enthusiasts to play this old, but grand material on select sites royalty and infringement free? It's not like these artists are still alive. I just can't imagine the affections of the heirs are in the right place to give a guy like you grief for sharing your collection. I say screw them!

  • @paulj0557 I sympathize with your view. But the problem

appears to more with SONG copyrights, than with recording

artists themselves. as you may know all popular songs

prior to 1923 are now in public domain, at least in the USA

that's small consolation, but at least that's one "safe" type

    of material.

  • @paulj0557 I say that music is for the collector to share...I have many old 45 rpm records and many 12" albums. I don't copy them to MP3, nor do I record them for anyone else. But, for these people to share their vinyl music via the internet the way they do, I appreciate it very much. The "snap, crackle, and pop" and the sound of the equipment itself gives way to a warmer sound, a much more comforting sound. thanks to the guy shareing this with us!

  • Wow !!! I have this same record

  • I have a very old columbia record sold in canada for 85c with the same pat. dates as your 1901-1909. Two great recordings I will have to video and show you.

now that I am inspired by your old record. it was in my family when I was little and passed onto me and now I guess its 100 years old. I have more 78s but there much newer.

  • @redmondgar oops guess it was 1913 three more years to go.

  • Those records you have are just pure priceless! Is that tonal arm a standard on Columbia graphophones?? It looks pristine.. so well kept. Thx for sharing!

  • @rastAsia Thanks....its not a Columbia player, Its a Zenith...and its called a "Cobra-Matic", thus the snake-shaped tone arm. Pretty neat.

  • Very cool, thanks for posting it.

  • Thank you for uploading!! What happene with the old account??

  • Shut down christmas eve for copyright infringements by WMG over the use of 'winter wonderland'. Imagine that. Merry Christmas....you're outta here!

  • That is just too amazing of a find!!! I'd love that. I have that little Chevrolet give away that I love but this kicks ass!

  • Thank you! I wish you could have seen my previous, now deleted, account. :( Way more amazging gems on there. I have a chevrolet christmas giveaway record with dinah shore, and also have rosemary clooney on a ford postcard with built in record singing about new fords to a christmas melody. Ilkl have to re-upload that one this holiday season.

  • Yes, I'd have loved your past postings, I'm sure. You have really found some incredibly unique things!!

  • This is another Columbia demonstration record which was the double disc record from around the 1900's. Another YouThber had a vid up which was the Columbia demonstration record where it was introduced to the double disc record and it was not for sale. If you haven't seen it, check it out! BTW, "kirbykallen" has the same record changer which is a '56 Zenith which was shown on all vids on that channel.

  • love it!

  • This is fantastic! Thank you!

  • there's no place like home, lol i have a 1906 concert verison of that song on my Site cool post.

  • Thank you. I used to have hundreds posted. I so very much miss my old page :(

  • Does This Zenith Have The Ability To Play Pre-1925 Records Recorded At Speeds Other Than 78RPM At The Correct Speed?

  • No. My 56 zenith did.

  • Wonderful! Thank you for sharing!

  • Nice! Special records are always fun to find!

  • thats a mono phono isnt it? i am trying to find

a new stereo cartridge for my58 motorola stereo

  • The reply was long, so i sent you a message

  • I love the Zenith Cobra tone arm.

  • 78Revolutions, Well done, sounds very good. Welcome back.

    Regards, J.

  • Thanks, Its good to be back. I need to add more vids, but I lost the 'drive' after haing youtube remove 400 vids. Its just not the same now :(

  • 78Revolutions, I understand how you feel. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you this time around.

    Regards, J.

  • WOW! Ive only seen one of these in all my years collecting! This is awesome!

  • And oddly enough, There was already a video on youtube! But I didnt find it til mine was nearly done uploading, so I let it go.

  • how cool...and I love the old console.

  • Thank you. She is my prize player.

  • I've seen scans of the label before, but didn't realise it was so big!

    Good score!

  • Interesting to listen to. The guy on the record sounds very "official" sounding in his description, and his voice. This record looks to have a larger than usual label too on that first side, I guess to get all that fine print on it. Very unique for sure!

  • Well, Not only that but it being that it was a short speech and musical bit, They didnt need the use all of that side of grooves.....so why bother putting a small label? Might as well fill the void with information.

  • Thanks for sharing great find.
