I was never a big Country Music fan until Music Fog blurred that line. Music Fog has a way with bringing out the Folk in a lot of Wonderful Musicians of all different backgrounds. Charlie here being no exception. What a great version of this song.
the guitarist is Kevin Carroll. From Austin by way of Boise ID. Has some solo stuff. Used to front a band called Sleestacks. He is awesome.Check out Tourmaline
@steveyd38 unless Kevin let his hair grow straight and blonde, that isn't him. Kevin Carroll is a horrible guitar player. The lead guitar was what was missing from most of Charlie's shows from everytime I saw him...which was about 2001 on..Just listen to the live record, there is so much more that could have been done...Carroll sounded like a beginner that just got his first gig....a total injustice to Charlie....but, Charlie picked him.
@mckellwade It's not Kevin or Rich brotherton lol, It's Mark Tokach. Who has played with Charlie since 2007. Very early show like 9 am! We are asleep. Thanks for the nice comments. Kevin Carroll rocks by the way! Sincerely, Mark Tokach
@boneglove - Let me clarify, I wasn't being critical of THIS performace. It's a great performance all the way around. It's classic CR. I have watched it several times. I am thrilled that CR has a talented lead player. I have to disagree with you on KC (but I didn't have to be as mean spirited as I was in my original post). I do have to state though that I only saw KC play when he was with CR...maybe he's great at other stuff...it's just didn't work for me live.

The gentleman next to Charlie is his band's lead guitar player---Just heard them live a couple of weeks ago and he just plain "shits & gits" on the electric lead guitar---real nice and talented fellow!
