  • Cam specs? Sounds a little mild... You know anyone running a 232-240* I-E @0.050" lift and 113 lsa? I'm really wanting to see a 5.7 with a cam that size...

  • i dont remember the lifts, 580's i think. but it was a 220/230 on a 116.

you cant fit a cam in the high 230 durations in a stock shortblock 5.7 hemi.

    these things arent LSx's lol.

i pulled that cam out and went to a 219/223 @ 113+2 cam. it loped a little harder (from the tighter LSA), but still doesnt sound like a healthy LSx cam and picked up power. the stock hemi's dont like a big cam very much.

    i sold the car and got a corvette with a 402 stroker and a 249/255 @ 110 cam in it :)

  • *edit* it was a 222/230 @ 116 (typo'd above)

it was WAY over cammed for a stockish 5.7 hemi.

like i said tho, cam designs for these new hemi's are nothing like the LSx's. the heads are too different to even try similar grinds.

the average "mild" hemi grind is about a 212/212 (on the small side) or maybe a 215/219 (both at 113 lsa).

    the average"mild" lsx cam is a 228/228.

    lol

i miss the comfort of my dodge, but the corvette is miles above it in performance.

  • @atheris86 Ahh. Well I guess my friend is out of luck for his daytona then. Sounds like you went about as far as you could with it. Sounds like you made a good choice with the vette. I personally am Hoping to get into an 04-05 ctsv... ;) I'm sure you can guess where that's goin. Lol

  • @flubyux2

with the stock shortblock i did.

    i ran a best of 12.3 @115.

i upgraded gears to 3.06 from a challenger, with ported heads cam and stall.. full exhaust.

the daytona can be modded, a cam only swap with some springs can get you to about 350whp.

good luck on the caddy, i love the V''s! throw a lumpy cam up in that bitch haha. nothing like a fast 4 door!

  • oh nevermind. i found it in the description.

  • so what is the overall horsepower of this thing after the upgrade?

  • hey man how much does all that wokr cost ?! that things beautiful

  • @dumbluck0629

if youre stupid like me.... 2700$ the first time around...

the second time i spent 400$ on the cam and me and my buddy installed it..

add in 200-300 for extra parts and youre good. but you will need a custom tune.

expect to pay about 300-500 for a custom tune, and 1000 for install if you cant do it yourself.

  • thanks man...by the sound of that thing id say money well spent!

  • well...

considering everything i spent the money on the first time around (when i didnt know as much, and went to a shop that specialized in Ford, not Dodge)..... got removed.

that 2700 was essentially flushed down the drain.

the second time around, i spent about 1,000... got a better cam, better parts, better tune..

(and with all of the other mods)

my car now runs a 12.4 @ 114 at the track...

which is pretty damn fast given that its a 4200 lb car.

  • wow really?! what 2700 in parts did u flush?!!

  • sounds nice ,check me out

  • sounds beautiful mayne..Mopar love

  • Sounds Beautiful!

  • thank you :)

the cam is getting changed thsi weekend and were adding FRI heads to the mix,

since then ive also added custom FRI stepped headers and put the high flow cats behind them.

video's will be posted in a week or 2 of the new combo!

  • Daytona, Road and Track Edition or SRT Package you get upgraded suspension, its like driving a different car...!

    SRT-8 also has 6.1 Hemi...

  • yea..... i know?

i can outrun a 6.1 so im not worried, and my suspension is better than SRT suspension ;)

  • that one cool R/T like ur wings :P

  • chargers are ok, i love the room they have but so big and the suspension is bouncey, cant really handle the turns well

  • thats why my suspension isnt stock.

ive got Pedders dampers and springs on all corners, and im sporting some of their bushings in my steering rack to improve handling and reduce bump steer. When i have more money i will also be adding their sway bars with adjustable end link. Pedders is the best.

the srt is also a decent upgrade from the 5.7 suspension... and i hope you didnt test a rental car v6.. that suspension is for granny.

  • i've been looking at pedders..which one's did you get? or should i just get the street kit stage 1?

  • depends on what youre going for.

i went with the "touring package" which includes the shocks/springs/bumpsteer bushings.

pedders is money baby, its unreal how much it imrpoves, and people like me swear by it. i love my pedders.

the problem is the cost of labor... the most advanced kit is 16 hours of labor alone, not including parts.

    just something to consider

  • very cool

  • click "more info" in the description of the vid, i will copy paste it here, just because... but fyi-
