@Juheniqus Survive, I guess, would be the main objective, but the mission is rather free-form. There were a series of simple objectives strewn across the island, though.

@kevindusk Fraps just doesn't really effect my performance (as far as I can tell, I play with vsync on). I recently started using Dxtory, try that instead of Fraps, people say it effects your FPS less.

Do you lot have briefing in-game before you launch operations like this? I would assume you would have to. If not, sorry to waste your time. But if so, is there any way that you could at least record some of it, just so we know what's going on and we have some idea of what the platoon's (and your squad's) general objective is? If you can't be bothered, that's fine, I'll just read Dslyecxi's AAR, but I think it'd be cool to see.

@kireclebnul We don't do a briefing for this particular mission, but for other missions we do either an in game brief, or a brief at the map screen before the mission starts. It mostly depends on if the mission is time-sensitive (e.g. the briefing says we're gonna get attacked immediately after spawning in). The mission is briefly explained to newjoins though, if it's their first time ("you're going to jump from an airplane, maybe without a weapon," etc)

@CHKilroy why do you/shacktac play with crosshairs? do you think it's more realistic/fun/easier in some way to do so?

@BamAzad90, we use a modified crosshair that doesn't have the "magical accuracy pipper" visible. It gives you a better sense of where your weapon is pointing, one that you'd have IRL due to the very tactile nature of holding a weapon to begin with.

@LuckyAssult ShackTac hasn't been associated with ShackNews for awhile now if that's what you're referring to, and the game is Arma 2, but I assume that's just a typo. America's Army 2 is a completely different game, one which I'm a little nostalgic for. Shame about AA3 :(
