tbird209. I usually go to Bayswater Rd in East Boston/Orient Heights. Or GrandView Ave/Coughlin Park in Winthrop where the planes land/take off directly above at 300 ft. Much better than Castle Island in Southie as you can see them land/takeoff.
wtf? This thing took off less than 4 miles away from me and I never even heard a thing about it!! (Very angry airplane enthusiast here!!) Thanks for the great video!
Tbird that came out so well! Great work. I can´t post my clip because I didn´t use my viewfinder and lost the plane after take-off due to the sun. This is excellent and lets me relive the experience! It was amazing!!
Love this bird so much. These powerful engines!!! he plane was light, thats the reason for the short take off roll. Saw 2 A380s 2 weeks ago in Paris. The white Air France bird is so beautyful! And yes: they are incredible quiet: At the ILA in Berlin the people was always shocked to see this big bird, but not to listen it ;-)
Thanks for this awesome video Tbird209! It realy spotlights some of the excellent performance elements of the A380. By the way, how do you manage to find all of these great video opportunities? Your site has some of the best spotting content out there. I would really have enjoyed seeing the plane if I had known that it was in Boston.
I had just dropped someone off at Logan and to my total surprise, spotted the A380 as I was driving down the airport roadway. I almost hit the guardrail! Great video.
@saabkate - You sound like a Logan spotter as you know where to look as you drive through the airport. :-) As such, I've sent you a message about a Boston-based plane spotters' group.
Dude you should see it do a display, jor-dropping!
