  • Rosemarie should just shut up when the doctor is talking to her and stop being so difficult and obstinate. Seriously, the reason these people go on the show is to change their attitudes and weights right??? And the previews of her tossing away Jenette's food is just rude! On another note, Jenette's diet is so similar to mine, especially when I'm particularly busy.

  • All the maple syrup and bean diet does is the same thing that ANY other diet does- it cuts your calories. Duh. That's why the shake diets work, hcg-bs diet works, or the bar diets, all are short term. You see quick results but don't learn how to eat right so after the weight comes off the person on the diet goes back to eating like they normally do... and vola! The weight comes right back. There is no quick fix. Learn to Eat right and Work out.

  • I did 12 days of the master cleanse(the lemon, maple syrup, and cayenne). It was super hard and, if you follow the correct plan, you're also supposed to drink salt water every morning. Misery, but I felt SO good after it was all over.

  • @apple0066 it's actually more recommended that you calculate your bmr which on average a females is 1500. just go google bmr calculator and calculate yours and that's about the average amount of calories you should eat a day.

  • @apple0066 wtf, i eat 1800 a day and i am really thin. 2000 calories is normal. unless you're really short and live a sedentary lifestyle, 2000 calories a day will not make a woman fat.

  • i like this show, ive been watching it on youtube.. i just dont see how this helps their eating problems at all. i mean, maybe it does in the UK but in america, this wouldnt have any effect. If anything, it might just make the skinny people want to stay superskinny, and the obese people want to die. Just saying.

  • I tried the maple water diet when I lived in L.A - I lasted 36 hours and then I was so hungry I was dizzy and too weak to get up and make food - was so gross!!!

  • A secret about celebrities is that a lot of them have access to lots of hardcore drugs provided to them by competitive bodybuilders. Often their "diets" are a cover story to explain away drastic weightloss.

    Maybe some of them do really manage to stick to a super-duper 150-cal diet for 2 weeks, and some of them don't. But their "official diets" shared with the public aren't always true.

  • I don't see how all of these girls are so thin on 1500 and 1700 calories a day. I only eat 1800 a day on average, and am extremely active (exercise 5 days a week, and Pilates on Saturdays or Sundays), and I am certainly not thin like that.

    Losing two pounds a week? I wish! It might be muscle at this point for me, though, I'm just always so amazed at this show! Haha!

    Studies consistently show that people who are overweight severely under-estimate their calories. Trust me, you do not break the laws of physics, more than like you fit the same pattern the studies find.

    Also, take height into consideration. A 5' woman eating 1500 calories will be one weight, a 5'10 woman eating 1500 another.

I never said that, and I don't appreciate that you overlooked the rest of my comment in order to act like I'm exaggerating the amount of calories I take in. I use a journal to track the amount of calories I take in per day, so you're not allowed to make false assumptions.

    I simply stated that I am not skin and bones, but eat only slightly more than many of the "super skinny" women in the show. I am not overweight, and I never have been.

    What I am saying is that the precision of counting calories varies. Science finds overweight people severely over-understimate, while skinny people severely-overestimate. I have no idea where you are on that scale.

    The point is all these people swear they're counting precisely, but in truth they're not, and often misccount by as much as 2-300 calories. It's easy, that's just rounding down a few bites.

  • @KushielsAdept In other words. A superskinny person of a certain height, only eats 300 calories less than an average weight person.

    It is also proven that "laypersons" are just not good at counting calories. Unless you weigh every single bite you ever eat (to the gram) and only eat foods that you know the exact caloric count to (never use generic things such as "apple" or "bread") you will have an error margin of 2-300 calories. The same food can vary as much as 20-30% by brand.

  • I think Anna is missing a huge component of successful weight loss. EXERCISING. By speeding up your metabolism, your body can burn through the fattiest foods. Watching your calorie intake is only half the battle. No wonder she can't seem to lose weight.

    Which is a good thing, actually. Cause I think Anna's hot the way she is.

  • lol I just finished the maple syrup detox a couple weeks ago! I lost 12lbs. Since coming off the detox I've lost 6 pounds. Bringing my total weight to 138lb which is normal for my height. The maple syrup diet is so easy, if you have will power. If you drink the concoction and enough water throughout the day you'll never feel hungry. Put its pointless to do if you don't plan on changing your diet afterwards. Anna obviously didn't start off right and she doesn't have patience nor will power :P

  • The syrup/lemonade diet is REALLY easy to do. It really does give you enough energy...BUT the only thing that makes it taste bad is the cayenne pepper (even if only a smidge). SO I found cayenne pepper supplement pills at a health store and just popped one of those to drink with the syrup/lemonade. Easy. Quick. Tasted fine. NO tasting the cayenne. If you want to do this diet, DO it with cayenne pepper pills because the spiciness taste of the cayenne was WAY too much for me.

  • Jenette needs to lift weights and build muscle tone. 12 weeks of a weight lifting program and she would have a body that a lot of women would kill for.

  • @iPigru the type of food she's eating has a lot of calories but since she never finishes anything and eats so little of it she always eats less than her body needs. so it's pretty logical that she's that skinny.

  • @iPigru : Do not forget that is the AVERAGE calories! And...even if she were to consume exactly 1700 Calories for a long period of time, she would be losing 2.5 per month.

    2,000 - 1,700 = 300

    300 * 30 days = -9000 Calories per month

    1 lb of fat = 3,500 calories

    9,000/3500 = about 2.5 lbs of fat

  • @iPigru how do you know that? some people in ED clinics don`t even put on weight eating 4000 cals/day. no physical activity, no purging in any other way, only being critically underweight plus stuffing their face. and yet won`t gain weight. it`s a body, not a machine...
