  • schawee.....sorry for mispelling

  • Nice Job again JP. I don't know how I missed this one on the forum. I especially like how you were talking us through some of the step you were doing toward the beginning of the video. Sorta like you were doing a tutorial of how to do a honeybee removal. Thanks for all the vids. Look forward to another year of great vids from you, scahwee and emil.

  • Awesome!! Do you ever do anything with yellow jackets or wasps?

  • @BigD2895

I actually don't get a lot of calls for yellow jackets, usually in early fall though. Regular wasps I do get calls about.

  • @JPthebeeman how long have you been doing removals?

  • @BigD2895

I did my very first one in 1990, so pushing 22 yrs.

  • Do the stings effect you at all anymore? Do you "feel" them or do you just keep going?

  • @BigD2895

If you are not severely allergic to bee stings to begin with the body does build up a certain tolerance. One becomes less sensitized to stings. This has happened to me.

I still get a reaction to stings but nowhere near what the average person would experience. It also depends on where you are stung as well.

The nose and eyes are very sensitive areas.

  • JP . What a great job. You are so gentle with the bees. Do you ever get stung? You had a bee crawling on your hat at the end of the video. It was beautiful.

  • @honeybeesinjapan

Yes, I do get stung, on a regular basis. In the course of a removal on average I may take anywhere from 1-5 stings. On one where the bees are more moody 7-15 stings. After that I suit up, LOL!

I've also performed quite a few removals where I didn't take any at all.

  • Good to see you back ,hope you are feeling better. To bad Schawee was not there to help find the Queen.

  • This JP fan from PA is glad to see that you are feeling better. I have learned a lot from your videos. This summer I performed my first removal. To my surprise I opened up a home and found two hives. I was well prepared for the unknown. All the bees are doing fine. All my best JP

  • Great news about finding the queen. Wow, 20k bees! Great save. Take care of yourself and as always best wishes from the left coast. -Kevin

  • JP what tool did you use to cut the drywall? That looks like it cut like butter.

  • @ptymona I used a multi-tool from Harbor Freight.

  • Good to see you back JP!

Hope you are doing better now. Glad the queen was in the vac box - it is disappointing to miss the queen. We are still doing some cutouts here and there.
