  • thank you!

  • thank you!

  • Thank You very much. This video is very simple the watch and understand as well as covering the entire operation including the bulb type info.

  • Thank u so much

  • Thank you, I was going to pay a mechanic $25 for thi job and now i will do it my self.

  • Nice video

  • Thanks a lot for sharing this video. I took my car to a service station & they asked for 50 bucs...!!!!

I saw this video & i could do it within 15 minutes.. btw, mine is a NIssan 2009 Sentra..

  • I almost destroyed my trunk before watching this video...LOL.

    Thanks a bunch.!

I won't be getting ripped off this time for a $35 installation fee (bulb not included)

    :-)

  • @Muziqlovher- Oh by the way...I have a Hyundai - if there any other car owners out there

  • @Muziqlovher Super cool! hopefully the Hyundai is close enough to the Nissan that you can successfully change your light bulb.

  • Thnx... Very helpful I was going to pay some dude to do it ($20) but googled it and found this awesome vid.... Thnx alot

  • This light bulb is perhaps the most over-engineered design in the history of the automobile. My God, Nissan! What the hell were you thinking? By the way, the instruction manual is next to worthless.

Very informative video. Thanks for posting it!

  • thanks this videohelp out alot..:]

  • @mranthonyelizondo Thanks !!!!

  • Great video. The only thing I would add is the carpet tabs have a center that pops out making it easier to remove. All other google sites had marginal written directions. I had trouble locating the two nuts that all of them refered to. I did'nt realize that they were hidden under the wiring harness tabs as pointed out in your video. Great job!!! It worked on a 2009 Altima as well.

  • @bugsiev8 Yeah another person mentioned the carpet tabs have centers as well. I don't know if my mine are different or perhaps I just do't see how to get that center piece out. Either way, these little guys cost as little as $1 at Westlake and I think less then $3 at the dealership. Until they die on me, I'm good ;)

  • Great video!!

    Very benefical.

Saved me a good grip of cash

  • how can you dislike this? (2 dislikes)

  • Thank You SOOOO Much Me And My Mom Were Working On This A Couldn't Figure This Out Googled It And Your Video Was First It Helped And Ton!!!!! Thanks

  • its a lot easier on a toyota echo.

  • @zloben9000 It probably is; that's why I made this video ;)

  • @EricaceaeCalluna Thank you very much .... Very helpful

  • Thank you, very much. It's always nice to know what you are getting into before taking the assembly out. Thanks, again, for taking the time to make this video and share your knowledge.

  • This video was so helpful thanks a bunch! My tail light works its my blinker light that needs to be replaced but still very helpful. My plastic cases protecting the lights has cracked on the edge do you think super glue will protect it from rain snow and ice?

  • @shaynicholas22 super glue has a tendency to become brittle. I'd look for Marine glue which is specifically designed for plastics and water exposure.

  • Thanks!

  • Outstanding vid. Thank you. Now I have to go do about a 1,000 push ups to regain my lost Chest-beating Macho points; but hey, we all gotta do what we gotta do! LOL

    Thanks again.

  • @vulturevegan LOL! Thanks :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. Changing the brake light was a breeze.

  • @srdass1 GREAT! I thought so too!

  • You're such a badass, lol

  • Thanks for this, @EricaceaeCalluna! You've saved me quite a bit of headache.

  • Thx!!! - didn't think the assembly popped out externally for bulb replace; was getting tied up in knots on how to access from inside the trunk.

    '06 Altima

  • @viddawg8 So glad you found this video. Once you see it, it goes pretty smoothly.

  • Saved me $40! Thanks!

  • Great video, however you don't have to rip the black plastic fasteners out. Just take a strong fingernail or small screwdriver and pull the center pin out and then you can easily pull the fastener out. Just go to any auto parts store and see how these pins work.

  • @RedDogByrd thanks for the input. My 'panel clips' did not have a center pin, so I had to pull them out. Someone else mentioned about a center pin. If you can see them in my video, my don't have that option. But, thanks for the info on the different kinds of clips/pins.

  • Thanks. This was sooooo handy!!! :)

  • Very good i learned how to do it from a lady. I feel like a wus.

  • @sracerboy thanks, sincerely, but no need to feel like a wus. I was just fortunate enough to have the time to figure this out!

  • Because of this Video I successfully changed my brake lights..I just had to put a lil elbow grease pulling the bulb out.. Thanks Erica!!! Awesome vid.

  • @Drob47 Excellent!

  • Thanks

  • Thanks EricaceaeCalluna. I have a 08 Altima and I can't find any videos or blogs of changing my stop light. But this video helped a lot. Especially the part when I had to pull that hook out.

  • Thank you! That helped me alot!

  • Thank you so much! I got as far as taking the nuts off and then was stuck - the diagrams in the manual were useless. Googled it, your video came up first, and it was excellently helpful!

  • @kaykodh Wahoo! I was first in line :) yeah, the other videos I went searching for didn't really help with my 2005. They didn't get in there and show the details either. I guess they were trying to be more universal to cover multiple cars.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video - whew!

  • Great Vid! I just replaced mine for the first time. This is a lot more thorough than the manual Thanks!

  • @Junyar You're welcome. Videos do help out a lot with details!

  • Thanx for the steps u helped me out

  • ty bitty

  • Thanks for showing the step-by-step instructions!

    Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the vid. Very useful.

  • really appreciate your vid... you really should've taken somebody's help to hold the camera

  • @BRishal thanks, I'm glad it helped. Perhaps next time I'll hire a camera crew and take YouTube by storm ;)

  • @illusive224 OH that'd be great. I know there have been some questions if there is a video or help on it. Post it if you've got it!

  • @illusive224 I'm sorry, I haven't had to change the front headlamp for such a long time, I honestly don't recall how to do it. do a Google search on this to see if it helps. nissanforums "how-can-i-change-bulb-altima"

Don't forget to align the headlight though. Park your car at dusk facing a wall/garage door, etc. use the screws in the housing to align the light beam.

  • THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first time my bulb went out I paid the dealer to replace it and just recently my bulb went out again and due to your helpful video it gave me the ability to replace it myself. Thanks again! Ur awesome!

  • @sweetjagirl You are welcome! Per one of the other posters, the life of the bulb can possibly be extended by not touching the bulb with your fingers. I know on halogen lights, the oil from even clean fingers can reduce the life of the bulb due to the high temp. However, on standard bulbs, I'm not sure how much it matters. Either way, now you know how easy and cheap it is :)

  • I was curious to see if anyone posted a step guide but came across this awesome how to vid! Great vid shots too can really see the details!! Thanks so much for posting this I'm ready to change my bulb now!

  • @jsmith9147 I'm glad i could help. That's the exact same reason why I made the video...I couldn't find help online myself.

  • Wow! There is no way I would have ever figured this out without your video. My husband just sat back and watched, because you made it look so easy that I was confident I could do it. He was very impressed. Thank you SOOO much!!

  • Great .... Thanks!!!

  • Jesus. They make it so complicated. my friend got an old Honda, and you honestly open the trunk, and everything is right there. My God. I have NO CLUE how to do the front head lights.. ugh

  • @GregJHorak I changed the front light some time ago, but haven't had to since. I did some quick research and see that the 2003 seems to be a HUGE PITA. Sorry about that.

YouTube won't let me post back a direct link, but do a Google search on this to see if it helps. nissanforums "how-can-i-change-bulb-altima"

Don't forget to align the headlight though. Park your car at dusk facing a wall/garage door, etc. use the screws in the housing to align the light beam.

  • great job. thank you for the help!

  • Wow a white woman that can change a brake light bulb on a car,, I'm very impress with you thanks for sharing.

  • @basimpsn You're welcome. Yep, white woman. Wait until I post all my cooking videos!

  • @EricaceaeCalluna

Make sure one of your cooking video is how to cook jerk pork lol

  • Thank you so, so, so much!!!!!! Your video helped out tremendously!!!! Took me about 5 mins total......again thanks!!!!!

  • Thank you so much, i was in brooklyn N Y and i din't know how to change the bulb a 44 year old man, you are da man...

  • @214noel Or da woman as the case maybe :D

  • Thanks, this video made it possible for me to change the bulb, thanks again!

  • do u know how to change the middle one above the licenses plate?

  • @jasonh213

I haven't had to do that. I found another site with instructions on how to replace them with LED lights, but no video. So, very similar to the brake/tail light video here. Do a Google search for "How To Install LED License Plate Lights on a Nissan Altima" for that page.

Basically take off the trunk liner, then unscrew the light housing (counterclockwise), pull the light bulbs out and replace them. I'd take the bulb to an auto parts place to get the right one.

  • @jasonh213 I wanted to see if you got the bulbs replaced? I haven't had to change that myself. I opened up my owners manual to try to find the "real" answer. The manual only shows two pictures, no words. There is a cover over the license plate area inside the trunk lid. I'm not sure, but there are two arrows in a curve which makes me think the cover slides off by pulling/sliding first to the left then right. Again, I haven't done this myself, so don't know. Did you do it?

  • Will you marry me? <3

  • Thanks a lot! i wasn't sure how to take those clips out, I didn't want to brake it, but now i know it's the only way./

  • @abeismain

If they break, you can get replacements online, an auto parts shop, hardware store or Nissan dealer. They are called "door panel" or "door & trim" clips and cost $1-$2.

  • Thank you very much! It really helps to save time and money! :) And Happy new year!!!

  • Many thanks! Because of this, I not only fixed a bad light, but noticed the other was out. I was driving without brake lights; you may have helped save me from an accident. God bless and Happy 2011!

  • @davincix11 WOW! That's great that you not only did it yourself, AND found the other one before something happened. You are having a great 2011 ;)

  • OMG. You deserve a youtube award. A girl just showed me how to replace a break light bulb. She did it with 1 hand too. Girl, you just saved me some $. thank you Erica.

  • @raiderlove4life You're funny & welcome! It was kind of funny trying to manage the camera and change the bulb. But, if I can do it with 1 hand, anyone can do it. Glad to help.

  • You ROCK Erica! Thanks for this easy step by step vid..

  • @jgt3n04 You're welcome!

  • Thank you for this video. My local mechanic was charging me $20 for the replacement.

  • @hispano25 Yeah! A few bucks here and there and the ease of doing it yourself in under 10minute rocks.

  • Thanks! Video was very helpful.

  • @FrankieJGP Glad I could help :)

  • Glad to help

  • Thanks for making this look so easy! I'm ready to run to Kraegen now to get my brake light bulb and tackle this little task.

  • Do You know how to take out the headlight housing?...I couldn't get it out for nothing, I would be able to wiggle it but the bottom corner closest to the bumper just didn't want to come out...and your video was a big help becuz im installing tailights as well =) thank you

  • @avonchizz0890 I changed the front light some time ago, but haven't had to since. Try this link to see if it helps.
