@me25422 "he [Dawkins] isnt saying god is evil...."
Wrong, Dawkins basically said that “The god of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction. Jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."
I was interested in these films until he started talking about Darwinism. This motherfucker's so far ass-backwards behind the fucking times I got bored.
Evolution prophecy - Romans 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
Also, the Bible doesn't say that the universe was created in 6 days. Dawkins couldn't be more wrong. One day to God is a multitude of years to us, and that's in God's Word.
@DutchSoldier73 Well, the Bible does tell us that a day to God is millenia to us. God is a God of the Heavens, and he is different than the "god of this earth".
Dawkins favors science, and science can be a very useful tool. We know that a day on Venus can take up to 5,832 hours. A day on Mars, though, is only a small amount longer to earth- about 25 hours long.
So it makes good sense that the God of the Heavens measures a day differently than us.
@DutchSoldier73 Yeah it says that in both 2 peter 3:8 and also in Psalm 90 . So, in both the old and new testament. Another interesting thing is that a lot of the things in the Bible seem to have hidden meanings to them. For instance, we learn in Revelations 17:15 that "waters" are actually multitudes of people. In Genesis creation, there are waters on both the heaven and the earth and they were divided. So we know Adam and Eve weren't the first people.
@TrunkMonkey3000 So you believe in genesis literally? Out of all the Bible 'chapters' or 'books' whichever you wish, genesis is by far the most wrong and disproved one.
@DutchSoldier73 I believe in Genesis allegorically at the very least. The serpent coiled around the tree changing Eve and Adam represents the changing of human DNA, and to some extent an evolution. That's why, of course, the medical establishment uses the snake coiled around a staff, called Staff of Hermes -- who an ancient sorcerer, prophet, and Greek God-- as the logo for their establishment (DNA).
The European Union is also based on the Tower of Babyl. Out of room now :(
@DutchSoldier73 Well you're correct that it is an Egyptian symbol, but it belongs to more than just the Egyptians. The medical establishment - the Jewish people- are presenting the Staff of Hermes- the Cadeceus- Moses's Staff because it has a specific meaning behind it, they're conveying a message.
Just like the story of Noah's flood is in dozens of different cultures, it doesn't just belong to the Babylonians in the Epic of Gilgamesh or just to the Jews in the Old Testament.
@bstatts93 And a few verses later: Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’ . And generally, Jesus calls everyone his brothers and sisters.
Every human is god himself, in the flesh. Funny how all the bollocks stays, but none of the true and really meaningful ideas remain or get understood or explained.
@MidnightSt sorry I do not understand what youre referring to with your second statement. as for the first yes it does say that, but its extremely obvious christ isnt telling them that they 'are gods', he is quoting psalm 82:6. hence the quotes. if you read the psalm, it explains that God is the true judge of any 'god' here on earth. this is true for many self righteous politicians/rulers or humanists, such as yourself.
@MidnightSt no, i can certainly see how you have come to that interpretation. but if you take the mounds of other instances in scripture where it is stated, 'no one comes to the father except through me[jesus]' and other similar verses promoting the principle that christ alone is god, then it is irrational to place 1 verses' strange wording in objectance to numerous others. of course if you believe the bible contradicts itself, then your mind is already made up, which is fine. but if the
@bstatts93 how do you "come to something through someone"? what does it mean "to accept someone('s authority)?" you are being literal where literal understanding doesn't make sense. coming to something through (accepting) someone means coming to something through accepting his ideas and thoughts. "no one comes to the father except through me (my [jesus's] understanding of god)". this doesn't contradict, but moreover supports what i said.
@MidnightSt scripture is studied as a whole rather than verse by verse, im sure reasoning will surface. im not someone who professes to be all knowing, but i will defend my beliefs as you are. one common interpretation of the psalm (mine, too) is that the 'gods' are the judges sent by God earlier in history"...(vs.35)unto whom the word of God came..". this is commonly referred to the judges (elijah, moses etc)since they were given authority by God to judge the people according to the lords word.
@bstatts93 "scripture as a whole" doesn't make any sense, therefore i see no other way than to study it verse by verse. i accept your opinion but i think you are wrong. you accept my opinion, but you think i am wrong. we should also both accept that we think the other one is wrong. that's the basis of discussion, anyways. do not resort to stating "you should accept my opinion" if you have no way to rebuke mine, only thing it does is it ends the discussion.
@MidnightSt Im not against any 'contradictions' or any such thing in the bible. ifyou have examples, without distorting the context such as you did,i would actually be interested.also just because interpretation of psalm 82:6 may be a subject of debate,it does not count ascontradictory. each person claims their own interpretation of everything, and throughout scripture, even the verses following the one u stated, clearly definschrist as god.1 misunderstood verse is not grounds for entire discredit.
@bstatts93 btw, i did not distort the context. jesus may not say "you are gods" directly, he might be quoting the psalm. but IN THE PSALM, The God himself says "you are gods", and he says it directly, and he means it. You are gods, but you will die like mortals. The second part of the sentence however in no way falsifies/negates the first part of it. It's more of a "Despite you being gods, you will die like mortals."
@TrunkMonkey3000 oh and also, In hebrew which Genesis was originally written in, many hebrew scholars that read and study hebrew have reviewed manuscripts and the literal translation from those appears to be 'literal 24 hour days' plus all the words have numerical equivalents. Just saying if youre interested on the topic theres lots out of info out there on the writing/origins of genesis
when i read darwin's origin, i first had to condense the pages into a few simple sentences. once i did that, i thought, no shit. not that he was slow. he definitely wasn't the first one to think these things but still i had some of these ideas formed before even trying to look for evolution sources. how can one not come to this conclusion? how is it more acceptable to think an invisible being that nobody has ever seen made the planet as opposed to it making itself. quite presumptuous i think.
I live in Denver, used to be Christian, now I'm an Atheist. I've been to Cherry Hills "megachurch" and i almost did a spit-take when i realized in been in the same room as Richard Dawkins xD
@AlbinoGiraffe123 Nice. *high-fives a fellow survivor* Pretty incredible the madness we used to believe, eh? Ironic that back then I thought I would have to go crazy to stop believing. Guess I went crazy! The best kind of crazy. XD Seriously though, the constant having to explain things away or "take it on faith and not question the almighty because that's fruitless and only he can understand what we mere mortals can't it so just pray harder and belieeeve".... THAT is true insanity.
penn jillette is right. last time i read the bible i couldnt believe how appalling and stupid it was....not much better than the Quran,,if its better at all.
god or whatever you want to call it... is not supernatural... god is nature... the world is not black and white... ("there is no god" or "there is a god") is a pointless argument... we are all one...
Lamarck wasn't as wrong as we want him to be. His ideas are way more hitting the truth than we may think. The problem is that his ideas cannot be tested in a laboratory and therefore they (the darwinists) dismiss them as being... untrue. very scientific approach I must say (NOT). Only because they cannot find an answer they say it is not true. The natural selection theory is nothing more than a hypothesis...
@mmiaso i think Lamarck has a point. if i understand him right he thought it was possible for beings to evolve on a minor scale during a lifetime, and then pass these traits on to others, so that pure chance and survivability is not the only driver of evolution. i think anybody who exercises and sees definite changes in their muscles realizes their may be something to that idea, as well as the fact that melanin and sun exposure seem to have driven evolutionary changes,
@wizardoflawz the fact that you can't do experiments in a laboratory makes it hard to proof that Lamarck was right. The orgnism has to WANT TO CHANGE its self. The experiment with cutting of the tails of mice is therefor a very stupid experiment.... because NO mouse wants to get rid of its tail.... so it's logic that there were no positive results in those tests..... stupid scientists :-S when will they start thinking for a change....
@mmiaso i doubt that it matters whether an organism "wants" to change itself. I am thinking more along the lines that behaving in certain ways exercises muscle tissues and grows them, that brain and nervous cells seem enhanced by use, and it seems evident that larger animals give birth to larger children.
Respond to this video... also i agree that darwinists dont want lamarck to be right, for some reason. in my opinion lamarck seems to support darwinist theory, however, as it provides a separate and stronger impetus for evolutionary changes
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.

And the divided forgot that they were actually all one. And began pickering over who was right and who was wrong. the divided forgot that the connection was from within and not from without and went in search of material things to find answers before even knowing the questions. And when they thought that they had found an answer, the divided made up a question to fit it. And the thought became afraid of not exisiting anymore, so it used religion to calm it's fear. forgetting the plurality.
Try... In the beginning of all that we know ,there was a thought .And the energy within that thought created a big bang of manifested material and a material plane. And the thought sought to understand itself & what it had created, so it divided it's self so that it could look from all directions to try to understand , But somewhere along the way confusion entered into the thought. So in order to avoid the confusion, it created religion to explain what it didn't understand. Just as plausible.
to set yourself upon an absolute such as there is no god or there is a personal god, cuts you off from other possibilities. If you get nothing from this at least get that there are many different viewpoints and all should at least be explored.
@EGMAG lol. sounds clever but when you examine it it does not mean anything. I understand that you probably already know that and I m not trying to insult you. So try this one. "A theist is an atheist who is searching for a god that probably does not exist."
They're fighting back against science because, 'it is ever-changing and wrong most of the time, trying to prove things', it isn't set standards and truth, but faith.
All we have to do is put one foot in front of the other and believe, over four billions years of evidence that can't be proven. Neither can be proven so far.
1) Lunchtime discussion on Oxford on the 'Oxford Debate'
2) "Is God a Delusion?" lecture with panel response (unless Dawkins shows up to debate!)
Run, Dawkins, run!! Keep running from Dr. Craig, from debate. That's the best thing you can do to keep your followers.
In case you followers don't know, he's been avoiding Dr. Craig, for he... is afraid to death of debating him! LOL... Even an atheist publicly accused him of cowardice!
As a citizen of a country that used to be under oppressive regime (though not nearly as bad), I can tell you for a fact that its not really about brainwashing as it is about fear and conformity. They are ignorant of the world outside their borders and they know that the whole world is out to kill them, including their own country. It is the only thing they know and there are some pretty efficient ways to discourage people from any research of other countries.
I want to go to hell..i don't want to be amongst these ppl after i die,( if indeed there is anything after death)...but getting stuck with them..now that would really be hell.
"Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given to the profane masses is another useful idiot for Jesuit machinations"-C.O.
Jesuitical: pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating
The Jesuits completely altered the education system to suit their evolution agenda to discredit the Bible. They cant have a Satanic society of 'Do as Thou Wilt' if people still follow the Bible
i agree but where do we really come from? where does morality comes from? what is reality? i refuse to think that life is IT, no afterlife... cos human race is too precious to be wasted like that
@PowerPoint91 Take some time to research philosophical and scientific study of morality. Reference the Train track problem...you will see that much of our morality is simply a result of evolution and not simply confined within the doctrine and dogma of Christianity or other religion. By abandoning Faith in the supernatural and delusion of a personal god.....you will find that you have Faith in yourself. You will lead a better, happier and more fulfilling life.
This is extremely arrogant thinking. Why is the human race so precious? What makes us more precious than say... apes? Because we're smarter? Because our own race said so?
We are animals, and in the face of death there is no discrimination of race, gender or species.
The difference between humans and apes in terms of DNA, is 1 and half percent.
Humans are the most intelligent animal on the planet, which gives us the illusion through the capability of social interaction to believe we are 'special.'
"We" say we're precious and if humans became extinct how do you think Earth would fare?
Oh and a whale is much more different than a bear, and the differences are numerous.
"You can read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, you can read God Is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens, but The Bible, itself, will turn you into an Atheist faster than anything." -Penn Jillette

TrunkMonkey3000 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 How can a day to God be a multitude of years to us when a day is a set amount of time?
DutchSoldier73 1 month ago
@DutchSoldier73 Well, the Bible does tell us that a day to God is millenia to us. God is a God of the Heavens, and he is different than the "god of this earth".
Dawkins favors science, and science can be a very useful tool. We know that a day on Venus can take up to 5,832 hours. A day on Mars, though, is only a small amount longer to earth- about 25 hours long.
So it makes good sense that the God of the Heavens measures a day differently than us.
TrunkMonkey3000 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 What a moron you are xD i feel sorry for your stupidity ..
TheEupot 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 Where in the Bible does it say that? Interested.
DutchSoldier73 1 month ago
@DutchSoldier73 Yeah it says that in both 2 peter 3:8 and also in Psalm 90 . So, in both the old and new testament. Another interesting thing is that a lot of the things in the Bible seem to have hidden meanings to them. For instance, we learn in Revelations 17:15 that "waters" are actually multitudes of people. In Genesis creation, there are waters on both the heaven and the earth and they were divided. So we know Adam and Eve weren't the first people.
TrunkMonkey3000 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 So you believe in genesis literally? Out of all the Bible 'chapters' or 'books' whichever you wish, genesis is by far the most wrong and disproved one.
DutchSoldier73 1 month ago
@DutchSoldier73 I believe in Genesis allegorically at the very least. The serpent coiled around the tree changing Eve and Adam represents the changing of human DNA, and to some extent an evolution. That's why, of course, the medical establishment uses the snake coiled around a staff, called Staff of Hermes -- who an ancient sorcerer, prophet, and Greek God-- as the logo for their establishment (DNA).
The European Union is also based on the Tower of Babyl. Out of room now :(
TrunkMonkey3000 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 You do realise that the snake coiled around the staff is an egyptian symbol? Designed way before Genesis was written.
DutchSoldier73 1 month ago
@DutchSoldier73 Well you're correct that it is an Egyptian symbol, but it belongs to more than just the Egyptians. The medical establishment - the Jewish people- are presenting the Staff of Hermes- the Cadeceus- Moses's Staff because it has a specific meaning behind it, they're conveying a message.
Just like the story of Noah's flood is in dozens of different cultures, it doesn't just belong to the Babylonians in the Epic of Gilgamesh or just to the Jews in the Old Testament.

@TrunkMonkey3000
so was jesus in the grave 3 days or 3 million years?
why can it be 24 hour days in the gospels, but not in genesis?
bstatts93 1 month ago
@bstatts93 That was Jesus in the grave, not God himself. Even though God was with him and one with him the entire time. Good question though.
TrunkMonkey3000 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 Im not sure if youre religious or not, but John 10:30 says "I and the father are one". Jesus is God himself, in the flesh.
bstatts93 1 month ago
@bstatts93 And a few verses later: Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’ . And generally, Jesus calls everyone his brothers and sisters.
Every human is god himself, in the flesh. Funny how all the bollocks stays, but none of the true and really meaningful ideas remain or get understood or explained.
MidnightSt 1 month ago
@MidnightSt sorry I do not understand what youre referring to with your second statement. as for the first yes it does say that, but its extremely obvious christ isnt telling them that they 'are gods', he is quoting psalm 82:6. hence the quotes. if you read the psalm, it explains that God is the true judge of any 'god' here on earth. this is true for many self righteous politicians/rulers or humanists, such as yourself.
bstatts93 1 month ago
@bstatts93 1. i will continue to "misinterpret" bible, because it is the only way i can see any sense in it.
2. try to read the whole psalm 82 while considering these definitions:
a) God (singular, capital G) - one undivided entity
b) "the great assembly" - not a place, but an act of merging of all living entities into one
c) 'gods' (plural, small g, in quotes) - people (mortals), or just any and all mortal living entities
MidnightSt 1 month ago
@bstatts93 then please answer following:
1. does this interpretation makes sense (in and of itself, disregarding anything that christianity states officialy)? yes/no
2. how exactly have i 'misinterpreted' this psalm and what is the 'correct' interpretation?
thank you.
MidnightSt 1 month ago
@MidnightSt no, i can certainly see how you have come to that interpretation. but if you take the mounds of other instances in scripture where it is stated, 'no one comes to the father except through me[jesus]' and other similar verses promoting the principle that christ alone is god, then it is irrational to place 1 verses' strange wording in objectance to numerous others. of course if you believe the bible contradicts itself, then your mind is already made up, which is fine. but if the
bstatts93 1 month ago
@bstatts93 how do you "come to something through someone"? what does it mean "to accept someone('s authority)?" you are being literal where literal understanding doesn't make sense. coming to something through (accepting) someone means coming to something through accepting his ideas and thoughts. "no one comes to the father except through me (my [jesus's] understanding of god)". this doesn't contradict, but moreover supports what i said.
MidnightSt 1 month ago
@MidnightSt scripture is studied as a whole rather than verse by verse, im sure reasoning will surface. im not someone who professes to be all knowing, but i will defend my beliefs as you are. one common interpretation of the psalm (mine, too) is that the 'gods' are the judges sent by God earlier in history"...(vs.35)unto whom the word of God came..". this is commonly referred to the judges (elijah, moses etc)since they were given authority by God to judge the people according to the lords word.
bstatts93 1 month ago
@bstatts93 "scripture as a whole" doesn't make any sense, therefore i see no other way than to study it verse by verse. i accept your opinion but i think you are wrong. you accept my opinion, but you think i am wrong. we should also both accept that we think the other one is wrong. that's the basis of discussion, anyways. do not resort to stating "you should accept my opinion" if you have no way to rebuke mine, only thing it does is it ends the discussion.
MidnightSt 1 month ago
@MidnightSt Im not against any 'contradictions' or any such thing in the bible. ifyou have examples, without distorting the context such as you did,i would actually be interested.also just because interpretation of psalm 82:6 may be a subject of debate,it does not count ascontradictory. each person claims their own interpretation of everything, and throughout scripture, even the verses following the one u stated, clearly definschrist as god.1 misunderstood verse is not grounds for entire discredit.
bstatts93 1 month ago
@bstatts93 btw, i did not distort the context. jesus may not say "you are gods" directly, he might be quoting the psalm. but IN THE PSALM, The God himself says "you are gods", and he says it directly, and he means it. You are gods, but you will die like mortals. The second part of the sentence however in no way falsifies/negates the first part of it. It's more of a "Despite you being gods, you will die like mortals."
MidnightSt 1 month ago
@TrunkMonkey3000 oh and also, In hebrew which Genesis was originally written in, many hebrew scholars that read and study hebrew have reviewed manuscripts and the literal translation from those appears to be 'literal 24 hour days' plus all the words have numerical equivalents. Just saying if youre interested on the topic theres lots out of info out there on the writing/origins of genesis

The natural selection theory is nothing more than a hypothesis...
mmiaso 2 months ago
@mmiaso i think Lamarck has a point. if i understand him right he thought it was possible for beings to evolve on a minor scale during a lifetime, and then pass these traits on to others, so that pure chance and survivability is not the only driver of evolution. i think anybody who exercises and sees definite changes in their muscles realizes their may be something to that idea, as well as the fact that melanin and sun exposure seem to have driven evolutionary changes,
wizardoflawz 2 months ago
@wizardoflawz the fact that you can't do experiments in a laboratory makes it hard to proof that Lamarck was right. The orgnism has to WANT TO CHANGE its self. The experiment with cutting of the tails of mice is therefor a very stupid experiment.... because NO mouse wants to get rid of its tail.... so it's logic that there were no positive results in those tests..... stupid scientists :-S when will they start thinking for a change....
mmiaso 2 months ago
@mmiaso i doubt that it matters whether an organism "wants" to change itself. I am thinking more along the lines that behaving in certain ways exercises muscle tissues and grows them, that brain and nervous cells seem enhanced by use, and it seems evident that larger animals give birth to larger children.
wizardoflawz 2 months ago
Respond to this video... also i agree that darwinists dont want lamarck to be right, for some reason. in my opinion lamarck seems to support darwinist theory, however, as it provides a separate and stronger impetus for evolutionary changes

MyNana420 3 months ago
MyNana420 3 months ago
to set yourself upon an absolute such as there is no god or there is a personal god, cuts you off from other possibilities. If you get nothing from this at least get that there are many different viewpoints and all should at least be explored.
