studies have shown that if you smoke 20 fags a day and you give up before youre 30 years old then there are almost no differences in health and life expectancy than someone who never smoked.......
Couldn't agree more. I'm vegetarian but very addicted to coffee for example and don't exercise. Every morning it's sort of a decision: do you want to feel 100% there or or more like 60%? It's true that you can get used to your body feeling bad most of the time. Stupid body, demanding attention! It's hard to get excited about this health stuff ;)
This was surprising. I was shocked to find out that you smoked! I really hope you can quit and wish you the best of luck! I can't say enough just how important that is! You know...
You can do it sweety :) It is alot of work to fight the urge but so many have sucsseded on quiting to smoke :) If they can do it then YOU can as well :) I know it is hard I just hope for your lungs trouth and overal health that you will trust me in school we once saw lungs of person who smokes... damn was that scary.. .:(
Yeah, I was counting on that. I always thought "well if I decide to have a baby there is no way I would continue smoking so I'll quit then" now I'm not sure if I will ever have one so that was not the best plan in the world LOL :-/
I know you can quit smoking. Even if you've tried before and failed, you just gotta pick yourself back up and believe in yourself. Thoughts tend to manifest, so if you can develop a belief of yourself not needing cigs ever again, it will happen! I have been thinking about getting more fit myself, but I am really really lazy. I think I'm gonna try the 28 day "plan" and see where it takes me. Thank you for this inspirational video.
I live in Tasmania, an island state off the coast of Australia. There is a lot of land around me, you can see it in more detail in some of my other vids.
Definately! There is some great nature in Tasmania, it is very untouched and the Tassie govt tries its hardest to keep it that way. The air here is great! I have no idea how it would compare to Peru tho, you may be disappointed.
oh well we have a lot of nature here in Peru, but I can imagine that Tasmania is a nice place as well =) I want to be an avid traveller ya know? Im gonna put tasmania in my traveller`s places list lol
(you gotta excuse me, but each time I think about tasmania I think about taz, the cartoon character hahaha)
Taz is supposed to be a Tasmanian Devil. That has always confused me though because he looks nothing like one LOL Look up Tasmanian Devil in Google Images, they are gorgeous :-)
Anyone that is vegan is a strong willed individual. I know giving up a smoking addiction is way more difficult, but you can do it if you put your mind to it. If it helps, think of your lungs as 2 little animals living inside you, and post pictures of smokers lungs on your wall. :)
Haha i wouldnt say your wrong, it all comes down to personal opinion, not everyone loves coffee, personally i couldn't live without it haha.. moderation is the key, so they say but this is where i contradict myself lol.. i too am trying to be healthy for the long run but it's easy to get distrated :P
I stopped drinking drinks with caffeine a long time ago. yesterday, I made the mistake of getting a mocha frappuccino from starbucks.. about an hour later, I felt sooo bad. It was like I had eaten shrooms or something. we are a world of drug addicts. LOL
Congratulations on your Vegan anniversary. If you've succeeded in that you can drop the smokes. The other drugs, like caffeine, can wait. It takes alot of will power to buck the prevailing food preferences of those surrounding you. Do it girl even though things are far from ideal lately.
Hmmmmmm going vegan is no contest to quitting smoking. When I get nicotine withdrawls I feel like my eyeballs are going to pop out of my head and I'm going to go on a killing spree. I'm terrified of it LOL
(Cont., sorry, couldn't append this to prior comment.)
That problem is called Orthorexia nervosa. You can look it up.
It afflicts people into health food that can evolve from vegetarian, to vegan, to eat only raw, no sugar, no processing, no chemicals.
And it becomes an obsessive compulsive disorder where the sufferers keep removing items from their diets until they look anorexic. It's kind of a mush up between food and religious, fanatic ethics that can end up killing them.
GULRUDJ, I added more context to my orthorexia comment that was missing bc a prior comment failed to post.
As a recovering (or whatever they call it) obsessive compulsive, I think that everything can be done in excess and can be taken to fanatical extremes.
Yes, if your eating habits isolate you or eating a simple meal becomes a huge production, you might be falling into orthorexia, also if you start fearing and removing all kinds of food from your diet bc the world is gunna end if you don't.
Yeah, I think that's the key. If you don't want to eat sweets that's ok but if you are afraid of them or never allow yourself one even though you are always craving them then that is another thing altogether. This is why I don't believe in diets and regimented fitness programs. I think all moves towards health should be part of a greater lifestyle change which involves some degree of moderation, for instance maybe you walk on a daily basis but if you miss it one time you don't beat yourself up.
First part (YT screwed it up so the Cont. is missing context):
Hello, TVW, thanks for the vid. You look your usual lovely.
Your home is so lush and verdant. You must live in South America.
Forget about quitting cafeine, cigs r d 1s dat kill.
Wish u luck on quitting cigs, not on 09, but ASAP. i know u can do it!
I thought about you when I saw in tv show 20/20 a story on Orthorexia Nervosa. Not that you have it or anything, but is food for thought, lol. Check it out. (to be continued on prior com)
Caffeine is actually quite a destructive drug, over long term use it has a negative effect on the adrenals and can cause you to feel that you cannot function normally without it. Underactive adrenals can cause you to feel fatigued and unmotivated a lot of the time. People I know who have quit caffeine report increased energy levels on a daily basis, and a feeling of unpleasantness when they consume even small quantities of caffeine.
I understand what you are saying, basically that I shouldn't develop a compulsion. But deciding to remove foods and other substances from my diet that are definately unhealthy and unneeded such as coffee and cigarettes or refined sugary foods (or at least cutting back) and getting some exercise doesn't seem like an unhealthy choice to make. I know some people take it to extremes but I know myself and I am VERY unlikely to do that LOL I'm too lazy apart from anything else XD
But when you tackle a myriad of issues, it's best to start by the most serious. Caffeine, sugar, and animal products don't stack up to the harmfulness of cig.
Try to get as much help as possible. Maybe even professional help, because it will be worth the effort. I wish you luck. My mom also has been addicted to cigs since she was a kid, and now she is very old, but she is still sucking on those things. I hope that when you're 40, cigs will be a distant memory.
I stopped smoking just over a year ago after having smoked a half oz of tobacco a day (about 30 or so roll-ups) for several years. I didn't find it hard, I just did it. I guess I must have been in the right frame of mind at the right time. I'm not a particually disciplined or strong willed individual.
Yeah, a lot of it is about timing I think, I could have quit many times but didn't cos I'm stupid. I haven't had one of those times where I felt motivated to quit for ages :-(
I disagree with the idea that sugar, caffeine, and tobacco are drugs. Those substances don't deserve to be called drugs; they don't have nearly as profound effects on the brain.
Well they don't have as much of an impact on my life as the drugs I used to take but they are still chemicals of dependence (sugar isn't really a drug per se but it can have an addictive effect in some people) and I feel my life would be better without them as it would improve my health. I would also be nice not to be in the continual cycle of craving and satisfying my addictions, many people say it gives you more mental stability. I'm not against drug use by others, I just think I should stop.
Yeah, starting is the worst in anything. What you need to set yourself is a goal that you will want to reach. For me, being vegan is all about the environment, maybe for you doing exercise would be to be able to do things without loosing your breath, or to loose the smoker's cough, anything. Just find yourself a goal you will want to get to like a crazyperson. Hugz and email me when ever you want to. Love ya!
There are alot of plants you can buy in the grocery store that are hallucinagenic. Nutmeg is a legal drug, morning glory seed. The thing with drugs like pot, shrooms, caffine, ect are fine the thing is when the drug uses you. I am definately not one of those people legalize marijuana, those people dont care about the medicinal uses of it they just want to go get drugs legally. I tried to go vegan, I am on a hunter gather diet. lean meat and lots of veggies. Very good for you, i feel loads better

Sorry it's not as easy as going to the grocery store. Those things suck. You can however, obtain grow materials at your local store for growing mushrooms or marijuana. Shrooms: fungifun "dot" org -> PF Tek for simple minds
You can also buy ayahuasca (DMT) online. Believe it or not, it's extremely powerful. It kind of has the same status as peyote.
You can also obtain mescaline (the active chemical in peyote) from a cactus that's not as potent as peyote, but which you can do a basic extraction in your kitchen to. Peyote's more renowned because the concentration of the mescaline is so high, no extraction is necessary, but you can in fact obtain mescaline from this cactus — San Pedro is the name of it.

According to wiki, this is from 1997, and "the word is entering the English lexicon". I can put only so much stock into this.
Likewise, if you think TVW is going to stop eating real food, you've got another thing comming.
This quote is hilarious: "Does your diet socially isolate you" (orig. source McCandless, David (29 March 2005). "'I am an orthorexic'", BBC News.)
Well, that would be a good thing, right?
