actually the taiwan native language isn't totally hokkien. If you could compare the two they're kinda different. So I guess "taiwanese" could be a name for the taiwan dialect.

If you know Hokkien and Talk to a Taiwanese Min Speaking each other you can communicate. But a person from the Speaking Southern American English probably can not understand someone Speaking Scottish English but the are thought of as the Same Language.
