Excellent Video! This is my current approach to Theism, except I believe that Gods, Spirits, Daemons etc. are material. I believe that the degrees of matter are infinite and that all things mental and spiritual are material to some degree. The reason I believe this is how it affects my magick. If all things spiritual are material to a subtler degree, then spirit can manifest onto the mundane once the frequency is raised to the proper degree.

Doesn't go into too much detail, but covers everything in a simple concise manner that almost anyone can understand. The Onyx bible is another good book. insatanshonor is a good website for beginners. Just study any books you deem relevant to develope your own relationship with Satan

@EnergyOM - agreed that some who run churches whether they be christian, wiccan or what have you, including satanist churches are running it to make a profit. beyond this, satanists should seek to be independent of organized religion or organized satanism in general since the focus in Satanism generally is the SELF not the collective order of a group.
I don't see why I should recognize you as a legitimate Satanist. You seem to depend on an external being for internal comfort. As a LeVayan, I think that Satanism is about self-reliance.

Laveyan Satanists see the gods merely as archtypes created by man, made powerful by the shock and awe they evoke. Yet they are not considered to by them to be real. You also agree that they are a creation of man. Yet you see them as more than merely an archtype. Please explain.
I also notice that when religion (ANY religion) gets organized and institutionalized, and its leadership sets themselves as Gatekeepers, they also simultaneously become Pathblockers! not all satanists believe in a christian trinity, no.
some satanists acknowledge the judeo christian god, and some do not. i recognize him but, i also like to recognize the many, many other gods besides that one. and there are many..
there are also many versions of the christian trinity.
@Shrikke - which bible are you referring to? There are numerous publications known as 'the bible', meaning that there is more than one version of this book that you speak of. I dont think that LaVey was strictly atheist; i agree with your view - BUT the majority of COS members claim to be atheist and they also promote the idea that Satan is only symbolic. Search for interviews with Peter Gilmore and see how the COS claim only to be atheists.
I have never seen an interview where LaVey claimed atheism but I have seen Gilmore claim it several times in various interviews. Likely had something to do with the TOS/COS split.
If I recall correctly, the CoS claimed that Anton LaVey was atheist but Dr. Aquino of the ToS said that Anton did believe in a literal Satan. My own personal feeling is that Anton LaVey believed that something did exist beyond that of the material world in the sense that one can achieve or change things beyond that of the 5 senses.
