Well, I am completely okay with their new album now. Dan said it was for him and his band and they didn't even necessarily change their style of music forever. I definatley can understand the need to go off and do something else and change for a bit to get away from the monoteny. I don't like their new ablum but I'll keep liking the band and wait for future recordings. If they keep writing stuff like this, then I'll just listen to their older stuff. Whatever.

I'm not sure why he did it. but it's a shame... and unfortunately it's common for bands. they get to a stage where it sounds like they want to appeal to everyone (and by everyone i mean the "OMG LOL THIS BAND IS SO KEWL") kinda people who are all about the mainstream stuff who's fandom is more likely to be noticed as it flows out of their ever-open mouths. maybe that's it. their blissful ignorance could be calming... ya know

For those who think he sounds a little down, hes not he just has always been soft spoken & he doesnt exactly love interviews. YM was released in 07 tho so this vid isnt recent bit during this time he was suffering (and still is) dealing with reactive arthritis ;( ive been a fan since day 1 & last time i saw him this happy & content was when he was around 15. @Cristalraindrops I bet it gets hard having to do a lot of interviews; having to oversimplify such emotional work for people who may not understand you (sometimes I think people really ask too much of these incredible human beings!) I think he's given such an amazing thing to the world (his music is like food to me) I couldn't ask for much more :o)

@seisali ? KoRn is "nu-metal".. which surfaced to prove us wrong just when we didn't think metal could get any worse. silverchair was grungy alternative rock, quite different in sound and mentality. And alt-rock/grunge aint about being angry and depressed all the time... it can be a factor but dont all genres have their dissatisfied songs? i mean, look at "good people" by jack Johnson. upbeat and easy listening but it could carry the very principals a lets say..more distorted song has.

@HAYDS510 i didn't compare music styles or genres. all i was saying is: korn has done the same stuff over and over and over, davis chewed out his childhood and the albums sold quite well. what daniel didn't do was chewing out his experiences when he was at his worst. this is what i admire about daniel johns. he could have sold more albums writing about anorexia and stuff but the thing is he didn't want to. that's not selling out. quite the opposite really. he risked a lot with the last 3 albums
