It is also a matter of the mother deciding whats best for her body, because for the majority of the time that a fetus develops, it is just another part of the mother's body. I don't think abortions are a good thing, but they are necessary and I would much rather have them be legal and regulated for the benefit of women's health.
Criminalizing things doesn't make them magically go away, women will always be getting abortions and it's better to keep it non black market.
