thats a good question. nocturnal deppression is pretty good first of all. but most people who listen to black metal each have something that they prefer, some like long, fast atmospheric black metal while others prefer slow and depressive songs like this.(so not everyone would like nocturnal depression) less than legitimate can rank from many things really, (unblack metal, people who use BM to become famous, etc)

I say Cradle Of Filth is a pretty fake black metal band, A lot of people would argue this though. Black metal is so obscure that just about everyone has different opinions and a lot of people want to seem like experts. You can't go wrong with the classics like Burzum and Nargaroth though.
