  • jay leaving the band was the best thing that ever happened. they picked up nels and pat sansone and have their most talented live lineup they've ever had.

jay was obviously a pain for everyone to work with, like that annoying hippie who has to have everyone's attention. i don't understand how some fans miss his influence on the band.

  • @breid33 Miss his influence? You mean their best record Yankee Hotel Foxtrot?

  • @breid33

Wilco fans miss Jay because Jay brought so many brilliant hooks and breakthrough musical ideas to the band. While I agree that Nels and Pat are both better musicians (especially live) neither of them have had the profound impact on the songwriting that Jay Bennett had. He was clearly difficult to work with, but that doesn't discount the friendships or the art that came from his time with Wilco. RIP Jay.

  • @breid33 the point is that he didn´t left the band , he died. You can´t say that this is the best thing.

  • @marcsfortaner he left the band long before he died.

  • @breid33 You´re right.

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @Gradey3 have you ever listened to the band?

  • did a cover of this, check it out on my channel

  • Where did they get the idea for this song, listening to a Time-Life Sounds of the Sixties infomercial? Or knitting socks?

  • Dude, have you heard the actual song? Or anything else off that album?

  • Jay was really a hero. YHF was my favorite album. A genius man, RIP

  • Makes me sad, miss Jay. Wilco was never really the same without him.

  • This phone conversation with his girlfriend made me smile because I have so been there before. I think it's very relevant to the song.

  • thats his wife, not his girlfriend

  • Wilco will love you....

  • love the lyrics to this..

  • one of the best songs ever, jay bennet will be missed, he will be one of my biggest inspirations...

  • RIP, Jay. Thanks for many great years, and many great albums.

  • RIP Jay

  • You misspelled "Jeff".

  • hahaha yeah right

  • Wilco > EVERYTHING

  • Yeah, he is known for being quite the arrogant guy. I too like the music but get very upset at the spirit of the composer. Different strokes...

  • dude this is an amazing song.

  • i will smask your head through a car windshield

  • His kids were having Pajama Day at school

  • "Well..I'll cal you later.... Pajama day?"

That's one of my favorite lines in that movie. :)

I am trying to break your heart is the only movie that I can watch over and over and over and not get tired of it.

  • Did Kurt Cobain ever cover any Wilco songs. He should have.

  • Strange, and no.

  • wilco > kurt cobain

  • @morganenosfilms what does that have to do with anything?

  • pajama day lol. this is great stuff, i HAVE to buy this DVD

  • from this period on jeffs voice sounds so much better than the way he sang on earlier wilco stuff

the band itself is also much tighter and the songs are better as wilcos sound became more experimental-- this has got to be my new favorite band...

  • i always think about buying steroids when im listening to wilco

  • lmao

  • what talent !!! there's a deep well here folks...

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

  • yeah, buy the dvd.

  • Thanks smartass. An incredible song, arrangement and all you can come up with is sarcasm. TwoTones thanks you for your help, douchebag.
