  • Raiden & Morphy - Talos (Percussion Concussion EP Part 2)

  • to be honest stop motion does well for monsters

robocop proved it with kain and the d 209

and so too did jason with talos, the skeletons, madusa and the kraken

  • 00:59 Led Zeppelin camera angle in yo' face!!!!!

  • One of my favorite movie sequences ever. It's not shown here, but I love the moment where Talos first becomes animate and turns to looks at Hercules and the other argonaut.

  • You mean there's a man who wants a fight?

    I speak of no man!

    Classic!!!!

  • aww he just wants to be their friend

  • Bernard Hermann and his orchestra with their music score made this film exciting.

  • ultimate badass, the real model is scary even though its only as big as a cat.

  • one big mean mother

  • 1:17 WATCH HIS BOOT!!!!

  • @TxAyo4YayoTx MIND HIS FOOT!!!

  • blimey. That brought back some nightmares

  • These men have balls of steel... to fight that thing!!!

  • My friend gets really freaked out by this scene, I find it amusing, L.O.L.

  • This sequence with Talos has been in my head for as long as I can remember -- he's the absolute epitome of cool, from the moment he first leans his head around -- inhuman and yet totally alive; I would say a clear inspiration for Alan Moore when he wrote Dr Manhattan. I want to be Talos, and terrorize my ex-girlfriend.

  • I remember going to see Jason and the Argonauts at the Saturday morning picture show of my local cinema years ago.The movie was fantastic on the big screen, it was never the same watching it on TV.The sequence featuring Talos coming to life combined with Bernard Herrmann's brilliant score was spellbinding.

  • jaja excellent... add me to the list of the ones who were scared by Talos at first time lol

  • I agree, MelonHeadFilmz, this is realistic and scary.. something that todays CG animation could never copy. Avatar may be cool and sofisticated when it comes to technology, but it lacks the raw movements of these figures, which to me feels more real, more intimidating.

  • That is sexy ass man of bronze!

  • May I know the name of this movie? I know its from Sinbad? but which episodes does it belong to? Thanks....

  • @htainlintha nah it isn't SInbad its Jason and The Argonauts. bit ovibious Lol

  • @htainlintha jason and the argonauts

  • Someone need to make the remake for these sinbad movie !!!!!

They did it with clash of the titan so please make these sinbad movies!!! lol!

  • I gathered the old drumsticks and bones from a nights' kentucky bucket and called for the Children of the Hydra in front of my ExBoss to slaughter him and everyone in the Office. Didn't work :(

  • Una de las mejores escenas fílmicas de todos los tiempos. El videojuego God Of War 2 hace un homenaje a Ray Harruhausen en la escena de los esqueletos. Kudos!!

  • I never did take to Jason as much as everyone else. After the amazing Talos sequence, anything there after seems really underwhelming, despite the animation in the film becoming increasingly complex as it goes on...

  • The first time I seen this sequence Talos scared the absolute shit out of me...

  • CAPO PALINURO(SA) ITALY 1963!!!!

  • My dad would watch these kinds of movies when I was younger (early 80's) and Talos was the most terrifying monster...he still scares me at 32! LOL!

  • To be honest I wasn't as much a fan of Talos as I was of some of the other creatures Harryhausen as a kid made mainly due to the fact he just moved a bit too slow that running away shoudln't be that difficult, but looking at him now he's amazing. Not quite as amazing as the skeletons, Hydra, harpies, Kraken, and Medusa, but still amazing.

  • SO classic!

  • 2012 remake out called The Kingdom of Hades...

  • Look to his heel, Jason.

  • I thought it was an Achilles' heel not Talos' heel (don't remember why Talos had that weakness)

  • At 36 seconds, Talos looks sexy standing there, legs apart, arms to the side. It's like a man built like that shouldn't have any weakness, but he did....dam it! He was drained of his masculinity.

  • Yep. All of his juice ran out.

  • This movie was part of my chidhood, I really enjoy this film, also Clash of the Titans, and Sinbad, the effects should be amazing by that times!! but I still get surprise, because this work y handmade.

  • Talos rules!

  • I adore this film it is by far one of my fave's of all time. LOVE IT!!! Talos rox

  • This movie is BEYOND epic. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one scared by Talos XD

  • Talos the man of bronze. His wickness was in the knee like Ahile.

  • my 5 yr old's favourite movie!

  • As a kid this scared the living hell out of me....it still does!

  • ray harryhausen was a master pupeteer these blokes should be knighted, not the l aresholes like richard bransom

  • ok is it just me or is this the second best movie scene in movie history next to the matrix bullet dodgeing scene

  • Send Talos to Afghanistan.

  • While we're at it, let's send the Cyclops with Talos to Afghanistan to destroy the Talliban!

  • @Spartacus217 If i am not mistaken, i think they already have: don't they bomb the so called "Taliban" with Talos missiles? Correct me as i am not certain.

  • Wow esta película me recuerda mi infancia. Por favor suban la película completa.

  • As a kid I watched all the aliens movie and this movie gave me more nightmares lol I used to have dreams that Talos came to my school one day and tried to hunt me down =(

  • i love this movie

  • creeped the shit out of me when i was a kid!! lol!!

  • Maybe if we throw rocks at it he will go away.

I always wondered as a kid what the hell they were thinking throwing rocks at a giant bronze monster.

  • colossus

  • The back of the vhs box describes him as a 100 foot bronze giant. That mofo gotta be atleast 3 or 4 hunnid!

  • Yeah! Jabbing his toe @ 1:34 is really going to do the trick.

  • i always wondered what that hole was for, does anyone know?

  • That's where Hephestus (however his name is spelled) poured Talos's hydraulic fluid in and sealed it off.

  • FUCKED IN THE FOOT!

  • i was shit scared when i saw this thing , great effects

  • Ray Harryhausen is god!

  • Talos is fuckin scary !!!

  • Scariest creature of all time.

  • 1:19 "mind his boot" lol I think you would

  • i wish talos was real, me him and could be friends and hang out all the time.

  • NERD

  • If they recreated this scene with computer graphics, , it wouldn't come close to the stop motion masterpiece that this is

  • THose ILM guys working on the transformers films are showing some serious muscle, tho...

  • i like my talos

  • Thank goodness Yalos is wearing a cod piece

  • It would be awesome if he wasn't wearing one! However, if that was the case, he'll have two weaknesses, both in between his legs....lol.

  • Talos is probably the most realistic of all movie monsters i've seen. Stop motion fits him beyond triumph. If something made of broze could move, it would move exactly like that. Harryhausen did something that modern day artists would fail if they tried.

  • Yeah & that metallic creaking he made when he moved-incredible...oh and let's NOT forget Bernard Hermann's amazing brass & percussion score that accompanied the whole sequence-a perfect fit.

  • @MelonHeadFilmz how do you know that monster is made of bronze?

  • @MelonHeadFilmz

Totally agree, Talos looks solid and real CGI would not look half as good. Modern SFX should try harder to combine techniques rather than replace everything with CGI.

  • i love stop motion

  • he looks comical from a distance but if it was really ud shit bricks enough to make the empire state building twice

  • this scene freaked us out, just the whole idea of a giant figure trying to kill you is horrible enough. But that fucking coldless stare sends chills down your spine.

  • I was perhaps 8 years old when I first saw this movie. From the time I saw it, this scene would occasionally come back to me as a very frightening nightmare. I would see Talos come to life, I would run, and then I would wake up just before I was about to be trodden to death. Even though it scared me very much at the time, I still love this film. I remember being so impressed with the clashing rocks scene, the harpies, and the skeletons. Brilliant!

  • Talos used to terrify me. It was the scariest part in the film (& most of it was terrifying). Amazing film. One of the all time greats.

  • lol i found hera's head talking to be frightening

  • Amazing bit of animation. I love the way Harryhausen gave the figure a sense of enormous weight, particularly noticeable when he does that small sidestep over the promontory. His giant foot comes down with a sense of mass truly proportional to a huge bronze statue. You can almost feel the ground shake. A true master at work!

  • grande Ray

  • this scene is the crowning achievement of 20th century film

  • la scena + bella del film

  • U havent lived until u have seen this movie.

  • one of my fravourite films

  • cool, i can remember as a child being scared shitless

  • Me too! Dude, that cold fucking stare!

  • Me also! I used to give birth to kittens when Talos came to life.
