I used to sing this all the time to my son, crying with him being rocked in a chair, his little feet curled to stomach I did that for years till I noticed his little feet starting to get longer, longer passed my stomach I had rocked him for years growing with me has been the very special bond between mother & son special transferred from my mother & me too my son & me I hear you mom through my voice, my looks all of it mom your with I was wrong I would forget you Never!Mom I am your favorite Wis
oh my God ...sounds amazing but the shoes....I can't believe it really makes a difference...but Stevie is all about creating an environment and a vibe...a dream really...I will try to not dwell on it
I went to the show she played the Friday after 9/11 in A.C. Amazing show and it was a struggle to get there because I was in NYC working on 9/11. But Stevie worked
With every year this song just becomes more meaningful. I treasure each day I get to watch my daughters grow and enjoy life. I will play this for both of them at thier weddings for all that they have given me, for all the pain they endured when abandoned by thier father, and for the people in our lives who would give anything to spend one more day with the child they lost. No song makes me cry like this one does. Make the most of every moment you spend with your child.
i had tickets to see her that week at radio city, of course cause of 911 the show was cancelled this song really gets to me. its so heartfelt. love you stevie
I was in the opening band on this show and this part of the tour..CALIFORNIA. Stevie and the whole band and crew were absolutely the best!! The show was unbelievable everynight, especially considering the events that happened right before this on 9-11. This song gave me chills everynight!
vulpecula999: Listen...if you're not from the US, then you really have no right to condemn WHATEVER we were doing to alleviate some of our grief after 9/11. This was a very intense and painful time for the citizens of this nation, and regardless of what you think of the US, I think we were entitled to release a little stress then. Also, Stevie, in particular, wanted to touch people and comfort them during that time. She wrote a great deal in her journal about this. (nicksfix com)
It was written for the 3 year old daughter of Joe Walsh( of the Eagles) on her way to nursery school Emma was killed in a road accident, stevie wrote this after visiting a water fountain Joe built in
This will make you cry! she wrote this song for a very good friend that she had who's daughter died about 3-4 years old & he could not live without her ! The little girl would walk in the forest with Stevie nicks & would cry as she could not reach the water fountain for a drink(it was grown up height)when she died Stevie had a very small water fountain made out of brass for the little kids who would go in the forest & of course for her now listen again to the tune xx she wrote it for HIM to help
GunslingerUK: I believe you have your details confused. Joe Walsh built the fountain for his young daughter after her tragic death. Stevie wrote the song after he told her the story of the fountain in Boulder, CO. Stevie didn't build the fountain, but she did manage to craft a fantastic song. :)
OMG these people need to keep there pie hole's shut for the most part and let the lady sing give her KUDO's after she is finished singing a song, with her uneal Voice.Tim B. SPB,FL

Definitely her most moving song - which is saying a lot, considering this woman's extraordinary catalogue.

Get over the Reeboks for a moment -
Think about why Stevie chose to close her show with this song on 9/22/01.
