  • I frequently think about that young hispanic woman. Her place of employment had moved on within a week. I regret that I didn't do anything to investigate or report the place. Today I am equipped to take decisive action if I ever run into a similar situation.

How do I know if they are consenting? I spend time asking the girls, their days off, where they live, how long they've been in the USA, etc. Fear has a very tangible smell. Except for the one instance, I've never observed.

  • I would consider myself an authority on this subject, having been a customer more than 1200 visits over the last 8 years at about 130 different Asian establishments. I have ongoing friendships with many owners.

I go out of my way to determine if there are ANY signs of constraint or coercion. I agree that participating in a situation that is not consenting is rape and evil. Only in one instance did I feel uncomfortable about this issue, so I spent the hour trying to communicate w/o success.

  • i would say what goes on behind the doors of two CONSENTING adults, should be fine in the eyes of the law.Let them spend more time on problems of a much greater caliber such as child molestation, rape and the likes. There are so many harmful issues other than "full service" massage parlors. you're never going to make the world perfect, PICK AND PRIORITIZE YOUR BATTLES!!!!!

  • @WATERMELONZZZ123 Again, how do you *know* that they are *consenting*? How do you tell? Are the women allowed to leave the brothel? Are they allowed to communicate with anyone who advocate for *their* interests? Do they "owe" any money to their bosses?

I'm not against sex work. I'm all for having it be legal and safe. I am *against* SLAVERY. That's what these brothels are. They are prisons for *SLAVES*. Obviously prostitution has to be decriminalized and we have to drop the hammer on slavers

  • Prostitution isn't the problem. Forced sexual slavery is the problem. Are these women allowed to leave the brothel? Are they allowed to communicate with anyone who would advocate for *their* interests? (health and counselling services). Do they 'owe' any money to their 'bosses'? If the answer to any of these questions is 'no', then if you go the brothels *you* are a COLLABORATOR with evil. Think on that one. Are you proud to be American? Are you American? What does that mean to you?

  • Prohibition always makes everything worse
