Yes, this setup will handle most modern games with ease, however an interesting option would be to get two 8800gt's in sli, this can compete with a 9800gx2.

Watching this video made me realize how much Crytek DIDN'T utilize their engine. You only see Mid-day, dawn, dusk, some fucked up ice levels, and night in their game. But in your video and custom levels you've got hazy skies, storms, and heavy rain. Crytek should've implemented some of that into the final game.

Well if you choose to judge it from the pre-release screenshots it has now, if you have any technical sense you can clearly see the lighting system isn't as advanced although the textures are on par with Crysis. Far Cry 2 has a much better special effects system, such as the extreme weather conditions, rain, propagation of fire, etc. But in terms of raw graphics, Crysis takes the cake, but barely.

And of course it would be best to compare when FC2 comes out so we can see it in motion.

DutchManticore is correct, the maps featured in this video are user-created and not official thus the reason why the lack of detail in the underwater. The map creators probably got lazy and didn't bother with all the small details. Underwater vegetation is fully supported in Crysis, it's just up to the map creators utilize them or not.
