  • One big difference between the American Warlord (Roosevelt) and his British (Churchill), Russian (Stalin), German (Hitler), Japanese (Tojo et al) counterparts is that he never attempted to play "general" in the course of the war. He gave out his overall objectives and left the fighting to his generals. The counterparts managed to micromanage, and usually with disastrous results.
