Wow! Attention Ramones fans! Does Mark (guitarist) totally look and act like Johnny Ramone in this video? Even the guitars are alike, or at least similar. Did he always look/act like this? Johnny Ramone is all over him! Well, Johnny was "all over" LOTS of guitar players. It's interesting the Ramones and Raven both formed around the same time (1974). Raven was influenced by punk, which is obvious in their music & performance, most notably their early music.
GREAT BAND!! I had Raven, Anvil, and Exciter albums back in the day, now that I hear them on youtube all these years later, I REMEMBER WHY! Great stuff! Thanks for posting it!!
For over 20 years I would sometimes wonder if I would ever run into these guys again.. I remember listening to them in the '80's thinking "how can they be so good?!?! Thank you for your time!
Oh my glorious God!!!! This is the best live footage of the band I have ever seen. Perhaps early early 80's? Is this pre-Wacko? Or pre-hockey helmet and gear Wacko?
This footage is from1982ish! It is a pre-hockey helmet wacko! The hockey helmet was worn so Wacko! didn't cut his forehead on the edges of his cymbals!!!
YES! YES! YES! YES!!!!! I had all but given up hope of ever seeing a quality RAVEN vid from their early 80's period. This is brilliant! Many thanks!!!!
who the hell would've thought he could thrash out so heavy on a fender Telecaster guitar with a single coil? I hate Tele's because they remind me of bruce springsteen...they are the most unmetal guitar style, so this amazes me that Raven gets a cool sound out of one.
AWESOME! Thank you for uploading this! Truly a classic song. Just a pure blast of headbanging bliss. BONUS: Check out Wacko in those high-thigh shorts. Hilarious. :-)
john gallagher still wears those shorts, that style, in 2009. yes, i live in the same neighborhood as both gallagher brothers. i've talked to them and they don;t hate me....whatta ya think about that? you're supposed to be impressed.
it is true. all of it.the shorts, tube socks to the knees and a let's say thrashed out vintage raven tee. it;s still 1984 in his head.
i had said john was wearing shorts the last time i saw him. summertime in the d.c isn't pleasant, i assure you.
both gallaghers moved here because hasslevander is here. considering how much i idolized these guys as a kid (still do, actually)i can't tell you how bizarre that was to discover.
john lives 2 or 3 miles away in the nicer part of town (solid upper middle $ but nothing fancy).

Hard to understand how talentless crap like Motley Crue made it big while a band like Raven never reached that same level of success.
