@teenhakker This guitar is okay if you're looking for an inexpensive, light acoustic/electric to carry around. The sound is hollow sounding when played acoustically. I plug mine through my effects board to thicken up the sound. The material is fairly cheap as the input jack and guitar strap knob is loosened on mine already. Cheap in price=cheap material
@JLJuarez07 Personally. I've tried many different brands of strings and it really doesn't make much of a difference on this guitar. It's all attributed to the wood in the body & neck. They use a low grade wood on this guitar as justified in it's price. I bought it for it's lightweight, compact, and affordability.
For this specific acoustic, I use a thinner or lighter gauge string. Just bought some PhosBronze (Phosperous/Bronze) string by Dean Markley. The gauge I use is Light. From 11 to 46. 11 is the gauge for the High "E" string and the 46 is the gauge for the Low "E" string. You'll find the lighter gauge strings easier on the fingers when it comes to bending notes.
Bronze strings give you a brighter tone whereas PhosBronze strings give you a well balanced tone with lows & hi's.
@MissNinjaPenguin You can buy the strings at any musical instrument stores in your area. When u walk in, just ask the person working there for some light gauge acoustic guitar strings. They come pre-packaged with all 6 strings. There's lots of companies out there that produce strings, so just pick the one that fits into your budget.
very very nice....i want that guitar ...though ...i dont want it in black...to plane...but its cheaper in black...so i dont no what to get...either something in my budget or something nice to look forward to...what do you think... or anybody
@griffraco I didn't know it was cheaper in the black color. If it is, it's probably not too much cheaper. You can always go 2nd hand or to your local pawn shops to see if they have a used one in the color you desire. E-Bay might be another viable option or some other kind of musician equipment trading forums in your region.
Oh yes, to tell you the truth, this guitar is cool in looks and is very lightweight, but the natural room acoustic sound is horrible. It sounds very thin, hollow, and dull; lacking warmth and depth. In other words, you get what you pay for since it's a guitar priced at under $200.00 CDN brand new. It's an okay guitar if you plan on plugging it through some effects like a Chorus and some Delay which brings out a crisp/clear chime like sound. Hope this helps!!!
@apallo88 I tried this guitar out at a music shop, and I was actually surprised. It sounded great! Loud and clear. A great deal IMO. But I guess not all guitars are created equal.
It simply means that it is an acoustic guitar that can be plugged into an amp. It has a soundhole for the acoustic sound and a pick-up for the electric aspect. Distortion added to an acoustic would sound horrible so I wouldn't advise doing it.
I bought it 2 yrs ago for about $150.00 CDN. It was cheaper because it was a demo at the store and they only had one left. These guitars are horrible sounding for room acoustics. They are meant more for direct input into an amp with effects to enhance the overall sound. They sound hollow with no Bass or depth alone. The only good thing is the light weight and cool styling.
thanks for the tips, but i will judge by myself about the playing condition, as you know, not all guitars look , feel or sound exactly the same, especially not acoustics...lol i just love the way it looks, and im no pro at acoustic so thats fine...for the bass part, i can always buy some thicker strings...lol
Yeah--that's just a straight sound with a little reverb. I find the sound to be a little too thin and trebly so I've added my Boss Acoustic Simulator to give the sound some warmth and fullness.
I actually love the feel of this guitar(Ibanez Talman TCY-10)If you're looking for a full bodied sound, then this is not the guitar for you, but if you're looking for a acoustic/electric with an alright sound and great looks and feel-this is yours! For this piece I plugged straight into an amp with a little reverb. I'm currently using an EQ and Acoustic Simulator to thicken the sound a bit and to add some warmth & richness to the tone. What a difference!
great playing :P
i want that guitar too
is there something that dissapoints you about the guitar ?
or is it just perfect ?

what does acoustic/electric mean? does it mean you can use distortion on an accoustic?

Wise move as this guitar has a styling like no other. Another plus is the lightness. Keep on strumming and rockin'!!
