I believe that is was a protos on A123 batts. Not sure of the details of the motor, pitch, etc... I think that Just Plane Chris (below) won the event. PM him and ask but I know it was a hot setup!!
@sopues That was my MSH Protos, running a Scorpion 3026-880 and 15T pinion. 7S A123 batteries. Max pitch is 12 degrees. Now I'm running it flybarless and with lipo power, and it's even faster. :)
As a general rule, electrics are faster due to the immediate response in power. The electric motor is instantaneous as the nitro takes a brief moment to open the throttle and burn the fuel required for the manuever.
I wish that I could have had entered the race but Greg Jones (Mudfoot) wasn't able to be there so he asked if I would record the days events for him!!

Just guessing somewhere around 80 mph. My nitro has been clocked at 70 and those helis were a bit faster!!

The field is literally about a hundred yards from a trap and skeet range!! We were told not to fly too far out near the south end of the runway!!
