  • Nice video, but arn't the bio fuels heavier in density than hi speed diesel ? i.e anything edible or bio will certainly leave thick carbon deposit & slug inside engine moving parts(engine trubine) !

And certainly i will not travel in those planes...

  • Does "BIOFUEL" mean that it's buring plant remains for fuel? I learnt that in science, I wonder if it's true.

  • @SodiumHydrocxide What do you think Coal and oil are?

  • AirNew Zealand are 4 star airline :-) go Air New Zealand

  • this was the first bio fuel flight ever :)

  • No I am pretty sure VS did one to Amsterdam first.

  • how did u know it was biofuel test?

  • at 0:40 you can see a white sticker on the engine no.1 (the plane's most left engine, the right most engine when looking at it on this video). The sticker says 'Biofuel' and was the only engine of the 4 that was running on it for the test. I imagine he found out because info about the flight ran on NZ news before the flight took place.

  • yea, it was all over the news.

  • The planes(ZK-NBS) is sitting on tarmac outside services hangers at Auckland intl out of service atm. was good to make use of it before gets scrapped for good.

  • Sadly it now no longer exists :(
