I still have my original copy of The Emancipation of Hugh Masekela on vinyl from the 60s. This has always been my favorite cut, and it was a big hit on R&B radio back then.
my younger sibling thought I was crazy in 60's when I played my Hugh Masekela album and danced my little behind off! Today my younger brother asked about this song - I still have my album....Bless you for having this link
I heard a humerous but not disrespectful song once I think it was an African man singing / talking in English about buying a bride and things had not worked out and he wanted her to go and to have his goat back. I'd love to find that song somewhere.
Real music, positive, energetic, original... BEAUTIFUL. Love African music. I wish black people stick more to their roots. Is there a specific genre you could put this in, how do you call this music?
It's amazing how every continent has such different music. No matter how different we are though, we always find a way to make GREAT music in our own ways and based in our culture.
I'm really proud to be African, where the origins and the roots of music started and will go on till the end of time.People like Babu Hugh make it worth listening to.

Wow! This man is awesome! When i look at him he brings me in the mind of the great reggae singer, Ken Boothe. I must show him this video.
