Thank you for uploading this wonderful tribute to Dame Joan. As a matter of interest Kenneth Neate was her Edgardo in the famous 1959 Lucia premiere and this is a memory he treasured all his life.
I sit here dripping with tears...lbut thrilled to see this. Joan's rich yet simple humanity is well caught, especially by Adam. When he praised her scone-making abilities, can you hear the hushed "ah" from the audience? It was similar at the beautiful tribute to Joan in New York in May. God bless you for posting this, and God bless our beloved Joan--who meant so much more to me than just the incomparable voice.
May God bless you Dame Joan, especially for the glorious beauty you brought to the world with your wonderfully beautiful voice. With your passing and Beverly Sills 3 years before you, the operatic world is far poorer for all your experience, wisdom and encouragement that you so generously passed on to aspiring singers following in your footsteps. A salute la Stupenda. Ciao.
Adam did a beautiful job with the eulogy.....Rest in Peace La Stupenda, you will never be forgotten xxx deepest sympathies to Meastro Bonynge, Adam, Helen and Joan's grandchildren at this very difficult time.
Thank you for posting this. What a loss. I miss the precious times I had with her and Maestro. I hope and pray that Maestro is surrounded with love and support in this hard time. Her generosity to young singers was selfless.

What a loss to opera and the world, this gentle and very funny wonderful opera singer. Her bel canto including Lucretia Borgia was sublime.
