It's a stupid mistake but in defense of the moving van drivers they probably had been driving a long distance in the middle of the night. Your bound to get drowsy and you can't just pull over and take a nap because you have a schedule to meet. And when your drowsy you make mistakes. I mean getting behind the wheel of a car after being up for 48 hours is the equivelent of getting behind the wheel drunk. I'm not saying that they were up that long but i can see how they could make that mistake.
in my state the canopy hieght is posted on every canopy, and they still hit the things. the canopy where i work was hit twice. Drivers fault in both cases. their companys paid for damage.
Poor poor design. The person/people that set up that canopy should have known better. It is a store that will need products delivered from a full sized semi some time. It is already that high how much more would it have cost too make it a few inches taller.
lol, perhaps there was some miscommunication. I bet the bulder thought 12 feet of clearence was how tall the whole structure was instead of how much space between the graund and the underside of the canopy. At least it wasn't 12" high instead of 12' (see spinal tap)
not really his fault people that drive that kind of truck dont need a cdl there for have no training but aside from the your canopy probly didnt have the min high restriction labeled on it hell even mcdonalds has that at the drive through
Now you know he knew he hit it. And he just played it off like nothing happened. Im an assistant manager at a convenience store and people do stupid stuff like that all the time.
talk about a perfect fit lolllllllllllllllllllllll
