First time hearing this.....another superb Ultravox track! I can notice how Ultravox inspired many artists of today. I can hear a little of LCD Soundsystem in this...
@death2hiphopnRnB NIce handle you have got there, though I think you are in for a long guerilla war. Its definately Chris Cross at the end, coz he has got that London accent so he sings "Larst" not "Last".
This takes me back. Totally surreal and mysterious. Dramatic but never overly done. Perfection for it's time.
Ultravox was my very favorite band through the 80's...the beauty, romance, fashion, spidery guitar, colored vinyl, Europe in the rain, Europe in Summer, atmosphere, synthesizers, sacred space.. ...Ultravox was king!
I'm lucky to be old enough to own an original ep of this track, along with all their albums on vinyl. Treasures. This brings back good memories, Thanks!!!
Such a beautiful song. But as for Midge singing the chorus - I don't think it sounds like his voice. Here is what i've found about this song: "...Paths And Angles (4':20"), performed and recorded in one late-1981 evening by the Cann/Cross/Currie trio at Snake Ranch Studios (London) to feature as the B-side to The Voice 7" and 12" singles.
Warren performs lead vocals with Chris performing backing vocals at the end of the track, singing, "The last camera", repeated to fade."
@elleborm You may have a point about the fade out and backing vocals, but who does sing the chorus? Can't be Cross, can it? It does sound like Midge singing in a rather flat tone to me.

@jansongs You'll have to go a long way to find a better songline, that's for sure...Mr Cann is a genius.

This is also available on the "Rare Volume 1" CD, if you can find a copy, which also has the (I think) excellent "Passionate Reply."

I think Midge does sing the vocal, that's why it works so well I think. The blend of Ure and Cann should have been used more!

It shouldn't be little known! Me and my brother love this one; it's one of my favourites!
I like Warren Cann's vocals in this and in Mr X! Does Midge Ure sing for the chorus because that sounds like his voice?
