  • по моему это мудачество для богатых....

и где ты в городе найдешь такую дорогу..

  • how much does one of these turbine engines cost.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheZoelzer2 Not sure how much the engine alone cost but the whole bike is 175k

  • @TheZoelzer2 FIFTY BUCKS

  • A Veyron vs Y2k guys, which vehicle would win?

  • @thegame42640 veyron would win, y2k dosen't accelerate quite as good.

  • I wonder what kind of milage you can get with one of those.... like if you cruise at 65 - 70 miles per hour on the interstate...

  • @jacktheripper0194 im pretty sure "just cruising" will go right out the window.. youll be there thinking "lets see what its got"

  • @aR3DF0Xa Lol probably... I can't even stay out of the throttle on quads and dirt bikes now lol

  • @jacktheripper0194 Mine gets boggy at less than 80 or 85

  • @dawino6260 Ah I thought it was only me lol nah jk but they are sick machines and I do want one really bad but don't have $180k to fork over xD

  • @jacktheripper0194 I scored mine off an auction I found via Walnecks - got it through an Estate sale for 40k with a bunch of rusting hulks thrown in just because no-one else bid on them

  • @dawino6260 Sweet man! would like to see some videos of it running and what not.

  • @jacktheripper0194 Eventually -- so far I'm weeding out all the ones in the front of my storage... I was up to 108 bikes for a while -- down to 77 now - just going through them as money permits - using the money from the ones I dont want to fix the ones I do want

  • @dawino6260 aight gonna look forward to seeing it man :P

  • @jacktheripper0194 Circa 3-4 mpg. Not too bad ;)

  • @jacktheripper0194 If you have to ask you probably can't afford it :p

  • @Gnomleif Lol very true my friend but it would still be sweet to get my hands on one of these...

  • That damn bike may look like a fucking drunken hippo, but it sure sounds a lot better and crazier than a drunk hippo. Goes faster than one too...

  • what does that guy do for a living to own all that sh!t

  • @tehragual its a turbine so the left screen is showing the percentge of the turbine spining. 0 being off, 100% being full throttle.

  • thumbs up if you dont undersand most of the top rated comments..lol

  • This guy looks like he's going through a mid-life crisis....damn and in that he made a jet bike. Haha

  • dude with the big daddy shirt just smoking a blunt like ...what it do?.lol

  • Completely impractical would be something like the Dodge Tomahawk. The y2k is actually being used as transportation. Many comments seem like sour grapes.

  • well... good thing it's not ugly as shit and completely impractical... plus, JP5 is so much cheaper and easier to find...

  • this bike makes no sense....fortunately most things don't thats why its awesome!!

  • this is crazy thats why i love it!

  • LA HAYABUSA ES MEJOR Q ESA MIERDA PESADA

  • @ELPESCADOR45 tu puta madre!!!

  • @ELPESCADOR45

    ta gueule

  • MY FAVORITE BIKE!!! No other compares. Its the bike equivalent of a Veyron - practicality doesn't matter, because its the ultimate technical achievement. 0-227 mph in 15 seconds!!!

  • How its work? The air been sucked by turbin and it being hot combustible gas, and what? It drives a piston, gearbox, chain etc? I really dont have clue about this, but as I know M1 tank abrams use the jet engine too, and the engine is used to drive it track.

  • @lunkprab It's not a 'jet bike' exactly, more accurately it is turbine powered. The turbine compresses and burns fuel which turns a shaft mated to a gearbox at a very high speed, 10's of thousands of revolutions a minute. The gearbox ( i think it is a CVT based on its 2 speed setup) transmits power to the rear wheel, which looks chain driven.

It really isn't to dissimilar to the setup used on the helicopter this turbine comes from. It isn't a jet helicopter, it just uses a turbine to power it.

  • @ramv36 Thanks for your reply, i just found out that it called turboshaft and i am understand just now, a lot of helicopter used this. So, is there any turbojet helicopter? How about Apache and similar helicopter?

I just found that even the russian has the turboshaft tank also. Its pretty funny that i thought is a turbojet engine, i cant imagine how if those bike stop in traffic jam, the vehicle behind it will be toasted.lol.

  • @lunkprab actually a turbojet and a turboshaft (and a turbofan for that matter) are all the same thing. i used to work on f/a-18 jet engines in the marine corps. the difference is that there is an output shaft connected to the turbines with a turboshaft engine. this means you can run gears off of it in order to keep engines smaller and also to configure them so that they aren't blowing exhaust directly out the rear. they can also run at lower rpm's than an engine in a plane (for less fuel use).

  • @lunkprab It's not possible to power a helicopter with a turbojet because a turbojet only provides thrust. It doesn't have a shaft to spin the helicopter's rotors. A turboshaft is basically a turbojet, except most of the exhaust energy is used to spin turbines that power a shaft, instead of providing forward thrust. Turbofans, turboprops, turbojets, and turboshafts all have the same basic engine core. They just provide power in different ways.

  • @lunkprab In the M1 tank, its turbine output shaft is mated to a massive Allison transmission, which in turn applies the power to the track drivetrain. Both the tank, the bike, and your regular piston engine car are setup the same way, there's a just a different powerplant used. Turbines are used due to their advantages, like immense power and torque in a lightweight package, though they have dangers, such as often exploding when they fail. They are also much more expensive to produce.

  • Pretty funny to see how that reporter turned an idiot sitting on that monster. =)
