What the crap is this bull, this kind of bull needs to stop and these idiots in congress need to get on with the real problems of our world. I think everyone in congress should be kicked out and let us the people select new ones.
This tells the tale of our times. Congress will have a moment of silence for a child molesting pervert, but won't take a moment of silence for all the people who will loose their jobs do to the Cap And TAX bill they passed against the consent of the people whom they were elected to serve. What hypocrites!
Well Congress dosen't presume to know things they don't actually know about public figures.
All of the people you see here were elected and campaigned on what they believed in before they were elected. Their only obligation is to vote in line with how they advertised themselves, not to take polls and vote on the basis of that. That is how Representative Democracy works.
That is a very good point Aphoresis. I sometimes feel, as many people do, that since we elected these people, they should listen to what it is we want and are saying. I fear that they don't represent our best interests any more. Instead they legislate at the whim of special interests, self interest, and personal ideology.
He took down racial barriers with his music and his messages of love. He was America's biggest living export of the modern age. If you had any idea of his influence around the world, you too would be taking a moment of silence.
I liked MJ. He was a great artist and in my opinion, a misunderstood man. I don't think that he ever got a fair shale once he was falsely accused of being a pedophile. That was just wrong. At least he was proven innocent of those charges.
a moment of silence for a pedophile celebrity? the party of latte liberals and celebrity is at it again. they should be working on GOVERNMENT issues. what makes jackson so special to deserve this? other celebrities have died this past week too. why not have a moment of silence for fallen soldiers? all Americans who die every day? Ridiculous.
and i thought democrats didn't want religion to have any place in government. they're endorsing religion here. oh no! hypocrites.
let me explain how the legal system works, you go to court for felony and found not guilty you retain all of your rights. Michael has been to the white house 2 or three times and never lost his rights to be mentioned under congress. Michael would have be a convicted folen for them to object.

I am just curious; have they ever had a moment of silence for the men and women of the military who have given their lives to defend our country?

Too bad you weren't famous and couldn't get any more respect. The prayers of some of us go out to the families of the overlooked as well.

well good, finally someone has spoken of God again in our government. If it took M.J. dying, then he did not die in vain.
