junaid187, no, alfas are quite reliable.. my 1984 spider has 180000 on the clock, and i still buzz mazda miatas at 7000 rpm in 4 th gear.....comperssion is still 200 cold and 220ish hot..i have rebuilt the head.. but at 180000 miles,, if you still have your car.you have done some repairs, by the way my reliable german car? i am selling it,, bmw's are like a prinsess, allway wanting repair at some point

The RX-8 truly is the best. Aside from gas mileage and oil consumption, it wins everything, besides the practicality on the Alfa's part.

Sure, the Audi beat it around the track, but it's nowhere near as fun to drive, and it's much more expensive.

FWD or RWD doesn't matter, good handling comes from a great chassis and suspension. Plus the engines in Alfa's are simply fantastic.

The Golf GTi is FWDriven and still a proper driver's car. :D

i prefer the mazda overall. japanese styling has always caught my eye, however, the audi does seem like it handles way better. im way more into Inline 4 turbo then rotary too, but the car just seems to look like my girlfriend would drive it. she even says she wants one. the alfa is just uglier than sin. itd look better if beaten with a shovel during a hailstorm. and its not sporty.

I would have the Alfa as a daily driver. We don't get really artistic cars like that in America, and if owning a passionately designed vehicle means less reliability (as they claim, I can't tell if they're joking about their past reputation)... well that's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make.

For some reason, if I were to buy an Alfa of the current range, I can't think of anything other than that beautiful 159. The rear end looks too heavy on the Brera, in my opinion.

RX-8 is a good car all-round, but trust me on this (I've test-driven one), if you're used to European cars, the dashboard is APPALING.

While the Alfa has one of the best looking fronts I've seen thus far I don't like the back. The Audi looks good overall. Now the Alfa beeing the least "pringly" car I beg to differ. The Alfa is by far the most pringly of them all. If you bought that car everyone is goint to envy the looks of it but everyone is going to know you just bought it for that. It's slow and it's a car for exactly the kind of person who goes golfing, wearing a horribly colloured suit most likely.

@xnjaq7 As a matter of fact, i do have a Mazda. Mazda3 (it's great for a large city like Toronto) And I had german cars in the past. Mazda makes very good cars btw. Even Mazda3 is a lot of fun to drive, well built a cheap to maintain.

In Toronto where i live, Mazda3 is the most popular small sedan (beats Corollas, Jettas, Sentras etc).

RX8 is a car i'd buy next. 100%. Never again i'd buy a used European car. They are bleeding expensive to maintain and not even the much fun :)
