buddy ive seen thousands of iihs videos. Not one video i have seen has ever had this reaction with the trunk opening..So BMW AND MERCEDES dont have the trunk button the drivers side?? YES THEY DOO..i think its jst poorly designed and little cheap materials.
Have you ever been in a BMW or Merc? Horribly overpriced, and under designed. The Layout of everything in them is horrible, even the steering wheel buttons.
@LoveTheCity123 We arent talking about 7 series ... .we're talking about 3 series. You cant compare Accord to 7 series, but in comparison to 3 series, Accord's interior is better. 3 series is already on market for 6 years...
@derbigpr500 Okay, let's talk about the 3 Series then. The 3 Series has more luxury than any other entry-level car, which is your unsafe and ugly Honda Accord. Besides, what would you be proud of more to say? "I own a BMW" or "I own a Honda" ? BMW has a reputation to be very luxurious and safe and I am glad I never have to worry about my mother getting hurt in hers.
@LoveTheCity123 Actually, Honda is considered to be a premium brand in europe, unlike in USA. For a good reason. Honda's you get in USA are SHIT. They're cheap plastic pieces of crap made for stupid people to buy. Thats why you dont like Honda. Honda car models that we get in europe are actually better versions of Acura cars you get in US.
Dirst of all, BMW 3 is ENTRY level car on its own, its not a luxury car in any sense. There are european cars that have much more luxury in that segment.
@derbigpr500 "Cheap interiors"? The BMW 3 Series has leatherette on the doors and seats. The BMW 3 Series is considered a entry-level automobile, but it is ALSO a "luxury car". BMW comes third at safety. First it is Volvo. Second it is Mercedes-Benz, and third it is BMW. Honda comes at like 11. Hondas are not safe and I would never buy one.
@LoveTheCity123 Sorry, but you've just proven my point about you not knowing anything about cars. Check the EuroNCAP test and you will see that Renault is the safest brand with largest amount of car that have 5 star rating, and gets highest scores. Hondas are not safe? Accord has won the 5 stars on euroncap, and got a higher score than bmw 3 series in every area...so, how the fuck is it not safe then?
@LoveTheCity123 Why do i say the 3 series feels cheap? Well, first of all, plastic materials inside might be soft touch, but are nowhere near as expensive as in those cars that i mentioned in my last post. The seats inside 3 series are bad to say the least. Too small, very hard, but not supportive at all. Accord's seats are MUCH better, more supportive, but also much more comfortable. Details in interior are also not very good in 3 series, except in the best equipped model.
@LoveTheCity123 Also, the 3 series looks old and bland in terms of design. Not just overall design, but in details, like buttons, switches, gauges, all looks old and made from hard feeling black plastic, while other european cars (especially french ones) have really high quality materials used to make the smallest details.. for example, all buttons covered with very thin layer of rubber, so the buttons feel silky smooth. Bmw 3 also lags in terms of comfort inside, with small uncomfortable seats.
@LoveTheCity123 The only area where 3 series has ANY chance to compete with new european car models, and some japanese ones is in terms of handling. Its quite sporty, RWD, and handles good. However, other cars handle just about as good, if not better (more stable and predictable, less fun), but are MUCH MUCH MUCH more comfortable. 3 series also lags behind noise insulation in cabin, and in technology..having none of the electronic systems found in other cars in same price range.
@LoveTheCity123 Having driven ALL the cars in the 4 door sedan segment possible to buy in europe, i can say that Bmw 3 is not even in the upper part of the half. Its definetly the best handling one, but other than that, it bad/average at everything else. Its not a real BMW at all, it doesnt feel special like 5 or 7 series. And ITS NOT special or exclusive to see on the road, since 3 series is actually the most commonly sold small 4 door sedan in most european countries.
@LoveTheCity123 BMW's have reputation for being luxurios, but BMW 3 is just a entry level BMW, nothing special about it, especially the interior which feels cheap and looks ugly compared to any other european saloon in that category (audi a4, volvo s60, peugeot 508, citroen c5, opel insignia, etc...). Unsafe? You OBVIOUSLY dont know shit about cars....i dont know why im even arguing with you. BMW is not even nearly the safest brand in the world. Renault, Volvo for example are much safer.
which is obviously what happaned here. but why is the question? Toyota Camrys have undergne the same exact test and there trunks didnt open. Thats not good. They should make it a little stirdier!
@rrange have u seen the crash between the yaris and camry? now compare that cheap plastic crap to this... acura has the only full line-up of vehicles with fully 5 star crash safety rating out of any automaker in america.
"Demonstrated exceptional safety and it's a surprisingly safe vehicle". LOL. If it has such a good safety performance, why the fuck is it surprising that it is safe?? Lol, you must have been hyper. I am not at all surprised that it is safe: it is a new vehicle with plenty of safety features and it is an Acura!
THAT DUDE IS DEAD.

now why the fuck did the trunk open?
rrange 3 years ago
just in case you have anyone on the trunk can escape lol
you control everything from the driver side
so the logical is anything button could have been hit or simply the hit did the damage.

@derbigpr500 You're kidding me right ? Please don't ever compare a Honda to a BMW or a Mercedes-Benz. That is like comparing a Kia to a Lamborghini.

@Xboxlivemgear Actually, I have been in a BMW. My mother owns a 2009 BMW 750i and it is very luxurious. It feels as luxurious as a Rolls Royce.

@LoveTheCity123 Anyway, eod now, because i have no intention of talking to someone who:
a) clearly doesnt know anything about cars in general
b) hasnt seen the european honda accord , let alone drove it, and knows nothing about it
c) hasnt sat inside the bmw 3
d) has no experiance with any of those cars, and cant compare them in any way.
And yes the current 3 series feels cheap, compared to Accord, but ALSO compared to other euro cars like Audi A4, Peugeot 508, Citroen C5, Volvo S60...

@LoveTheCity123 If i had to rank the cars in small 4 door segment it'd be like this:
1/2. Audi A4 / Volvo S60 (really close, volvo comfier, audi sportier)
2/3. Peugeot 508 / Citroen C5 (EXCELLENT interiors and very comfortable, C5 probably the comfiest car under 100k euros)
4/5. Mercedes C class / BMW 3 series
6/7. Honda Accord (euro model) / Opel Insignia
The rest pretty much the same, depends on your taste... VW Passat, Renault Laguna, Skoda Superb, Toyota Avensis, Mazda 6, Saab 9-3,

Dummy kinematics are awesome! And passenger compartment intrusion is well controlled. But I don't like the glass for the driver! Still, really good.
