  • anyone have Leslie's version of We gotta get out of this place, would love for it to be up here on YT,

  • @DaddyBog DEAR BIG DADDY: THE GREAT SATAN HAS IT ON TWO!!! DIFFERENT ALBUMS SOON TO COME PROMISE!!!

  • PURE POWER

  • propper fat tube sound

  • YES THOSE WERE SUNN AMPS WE USED THEM FOR A LONG TIME GROWING UP IN CLIO,MICHIGAN!!! LAST TIME I SAW ANY SUNN AMPS LIVE WAS @ FOGHAT CONCERT @ I.M.A IN '80 MODEL T'S FOR EVERYONE!!!

  • i dont know jonny winters version pretty good

  • This is an excellent cover, but I could have done without the minute-and-a-half bullshit intro. Thank God for the Ramones.

  • i have this on vinyl its pure class

  • @hughjarse83 YOU WOULD BE CORRECT-PLEASE DO NOT LET ANYONE COMPARE THE RAMONES WITH MOUNTAIN!!!!

  • lesly grande!!!

  • What tone! Must be the LP jr. and Marshall ---I dont think those were Sunn amps

  • I started listing to Mountain way back in the early 70's and they are still the best rockers out there

  • Great!

  • grande leslie

  • i took my son a few years back to the Warfield in S.F. to go see Joe Satriani and Leslie West......after Leslie West's set my son sez to me..''that guy Leslie not only played the guitar...he played the FUCK out of it...damn...i'm sold on Leslie..'' teaching the youth a thing or two.....

  • my first concert mountain /J geils band swing autotorium san berdoo still tell friends about it today

  • i bought one of Mountain's albums and on the back it said this record to be played loud and did I ever my mother hated it.

  • i heard this and was like ..."WHOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Had to blast it out loud...fuck the neighbors they need to hear some good music lol

  • If that aint tha shizz , i dont know what izz!

  • The live side of this LP is one of the top ten live performances of any band anywhere. There was an insert in the LP that said (paraphrasing) "Due to the length of the live recording, the volume of side 2 might be lower, so TURN IT UP." :)

  • Oh My God ! We just saw the Fillmore East Tribute show with Jimmy Vivino and Rich Pagano - Did lots of Mountain, did it Justice !

Glad the young'uns can still see the right way to do it: Maybe one or two will pick up the axe and be the next resurgent Rock group to climb the mountain!

  • The Beatles, Elvis Presley and the 3/4 of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame combined on the SAME STAGE can't DO IT BETTER THEN THIS!!!!

  • great cover version. ol leslie jammin one for us lovers of RNR!!!!!!

  • A great album but it does not do the band justice. You had to see Mountain live. I saw them perform this song in Ann Arbor at Hill Auditorium in the fall of 1971. Leslie had the crowd mesmorized during his solo and when he broke into Roll Over Beetoven, the crowd went absolutely nuts.

  • leslie is the mountain in mountain!

  • Thank you so much!!

Had this lp back in 70's - lost it...................go Leslie go ! Brilliant

    dreamcommander1

  • sorry but justin beiber and lil waynes duet on this song is far better..blows leslie and mountain off the map..check out the clip and you will agree...leslie and clapton and hendrix could take a lesson or two from beiber and lil wayne.

  • @ChiroQuacker

    this is being sarcastic right?

This is a joke right?justin beiber and lil wayne?Who the fuck are those kids, leslie and mountain are men.More of a man than any punk like Bieber or however you spell the queers name, will ever be in 9 lifetimes

  • One of the best live sides of a album ever!

  • @featnavel YOU MEAN E V A H!!! saw 'em in eastown and eaatern mi. u. in 1970-72 fabuloous!!!!

  • Many years ago I had this on a cassette tape. Not sure who gave it to me and I don;t know where the tape went but the song started off with about three minutes of guitar feedback through an amp; it was incredible; has anyone come across that recording

  • the begining ia raw power.

  • Leslie West: Lickmeister. It's always nice to hear someone in full stride (as is the whole band).

  • I heard them do this in Richmond, Va. Probably the best concert I ever saw, except maybe when I saw them at Atlanta Pop about a year earlier. Incredible stuff.

  • If Leslie West played guitar against the Devil, I'd put all my money on Leslie.

  • QUE ME PERDONE JEEF LINE O LOS BEATLES O CHUCK BERRY O QUIEN SEA ESTA ES LA MEJOR VERSIÓN QUE HE ESCUCHADO ... FELICIDADES A MONTAÑA

  • QUE ME PERDONE JEEF LINE O LOS BEATLE O CHUCK BERRY O QUIEN SEA ESAT ES LA MEJOR VERSION QUE HE ESCUCHADO ... FELICIDADES A MONTAÑA

  • If Mountain were ever rated the Best Rock Band of All Time, they would still be under-rated ! The live side of "Flowers of Evil" makes a very simple and loud statement to every other band - "there's no point in you guys showing up for the party !"

  • nuclear nirvana

  • Simply one of the greatest examples of tone and string bending ever recorded.

  • Indeed one of the best ever live versions of Roll Over Beethoven ever done.

  • Caught this tour, Dec. '71, Long Beach Arena. Never saw so many amps in my life. We counted 52 cabs for Felix...and let me tell you, his bass shook every molecule in your body. Leslie did his solo and I remember he threw in "Jingle Bells" or something like that since it was close to Xmas. J. Geils & Sweat Hog were the openers. They don't make 'em like this anymore!

  • THIS WAS GREAT !!!Thanks for posting !!

  • there is hardly any words in the begining!!wats up with that!

  • anyone know where i can get the tab to this? can't seem to find it anywhere..

  • @aceshigh1087 ..Flowers of Evil is the third album by Mountain. It was their first live outing, with the second vinyl side consisting of material recorded at New York City's legendary Fillmore East in 1971.track list : Side 1: Studio Side 2: Live 6. "Dream Sequence: Guitar Solo [West] / Roll Over Beethoven [Berry] / Dreams Of Milk And Honey [West/Pappalardi/Ventura/Landsberg] / Variations [West/Pappalardi/Laing/Knight] / Swan Theme [Pappalardi/Collins]" - 25:03 7. "Mississippi Queen"

  • @tsatswiz thanks, i knew what album it's from. still wondering where i can find the tab though..

  • @aceshigh1087

Hi I 'll post something about it.

if you are interested, contact me at june97310(a)hotmail.com

    regards

  • @aceshigh1087 use yo ears foo

  • 親父がファンでLPが家にあります。

    中学生の時よく聴いてました^^

    今聴いても色褪せませんね^^

  • @aceshigh1087 haha I don't think there is... which is why you gotta play it off cd/youtube whatever and learn the song... play the same part over and over and over again and eventually you will probably get it.. but with some parts.. Leslie's playin is soo fast.. it's hard to hear all the notes he's playing!

  • @aceshigh1087 c your joking right >?? use your imagination ...

  • Without a doubt, the best version of Roll Over Beethoven i have ever heard! I totally agree with tsatswiz comments. In my opinion when it comes to playing live,Mountain in their prime was just unbelievable! Flowers Of Evil was a perfect example! Felix's unreal fuzz bass playing was incredible! He had some much talent all around! Leslie was ripping it up! Got to love Corky on those drums. And you can hear Steve Knight doing a number on those keys! Thanks alot for a real treat tsatswiz!

  • @bzeola thank you for the apreciation friend...

  • Without a doubt, the best version of Roll Over Beethoven i have ever heard! Flowers Of Evil was just superb! I totally agree with tsatswiz comments! Felix's unique fuzz bass sound was incredible! What a player. Incredible talent all around! And Leslie was ripping it up. Got to love Corky on those drums. And you can hear Steve Knight playing those keys. I was fortunate enough to see them, quite a few times in their prime. Thanks alot tsatswiz for a real treat!

  • One of the best and most influential Hard rock live tracks I have ever heard - and at 58 years of age boy have I heard zillions.

This track still makes me want to laugh and cry at the sametime.

On par with early Johnny Winter Live.

    Stufuckinpendous!!

  • @astraltrader i like this....zillions...good point...

  • Unreal guitar intro. Leslie plays delicate notes then slams G and D chords thru full volume amp stacks, with fat tone from his L.P. Junior. Leslie is a master of well placed notes, who beats Malmsteen and other flash guitarists hands down. Yet, Leslie's playing is deceptive. His leads are simple, like B.B. King, but try to play like B.B. - it's not that easy. Leslie's playing is the same, all the right notes are there and none that shouldn't be there. That's the hallmark of a great player.

  • I can't imagine LW ever climbing a mountain but he sure can play the geetar!

  • Click on my name and check out the only video I've uploaded. Leslie & Mountain in fine form the nite President Obama won the election. Very rough recording using a borrowed little point 'N' click camera. But to all you Leslie West fans out there, I hope you will find my little point/click in time very interesting!!!

  • I saw a lot of bands between '76-'79, and have listened to countless classic live albums from the '70s, but this live side is etched into my brain like no other!! The feel they had as a band was incredible on this night!!! This is my absolute favorite live recording of all time!!!

  • @armandj3 I agree!

  • Fillmore East 6 - 27 - 1971

Did anyone shoot film of this Concert ?

  • Depper,you nailed it,pretty awesome stuff.

  • Leslie West, The best there is, The best that was, The best that will ever be. Unbelieveable tone!!!!!

  • Great note choice and may I say, fabulous phrasing. He is a very crass old man nowadays, but he sure could play for a guy who only used 2 fingers.

  • I don't have this gem on video, but I do have a lesser but still classic version if you havent seen it already. search for: Leslie West - Roll Over Beethoven - 1980

  • ABSOLUTELY!! Nearly 40 years, and still waiting for anyone who can top this!!!!

  • @fretjuice COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!!!!!!!!! EVERYBODY'S DONE THIS, BUT NOBODY COMES CLOSE. (NOT EVEN CHUCK BERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • @GERBO74 I find myself agreeing with my mouth still open in shock. I feel as if i've been struck head on by a large lorry.

  • The all time greatest intro to start of the greatest cover to this tune you will EVER HEAR.

Elvis Presley, Beatles love ya both, but Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi, Corky Laing and Steve Knight won the Battle of the Bands this night!!!!

  • IMHO, the most underrated American group from the early 70s.

  • I agree. Even though their body of work wansn't huge, I always felt they were ahead of their time. True pioneers in the history of hard rock. I was 12 yrs old when I heard NANTUCKET SLEIGHRIDE for the first time. I was blown away , I still listen to MOUN TAIN to this day.

  • the best cover true

  • freekoss, first of all thanX for your comment and to stand by here to watch my videos, this or all others, and second i like that we have something in common.Mountain and this cover too.Stay tuned and if you like subscribe to have some news from me when i upload something that may be interesting for your musical trips

  • I agree with you tsatswiz, the best cover of this Chuck Berry song.

  • best live intro of all time hair on back of my neck still stands on end after all these years priceless

  • The fat man rocks!

  • Yeah man!!!!! sure do.f@kin' guitar blows your brains out
