What I noticed.. 0:05 triforce sign on bin 0:12 Pac-man ghosts on wall 0:21 triforce sign in bg 0:44 xp very common 0:44 Coin looks similar to mario coins 0:59 Similar to pokemon 1:39 hit a box to get coins (mario reference) 2:24 rainbow road (mario reference) 2:56 mushroom on wall in bg (mario reference)

0:00 super mario 2 character selection screen, the four characters would be lined up for you to choose(also the curtains were there.

0:10 pacman ghosts, and also the ubisoft symbol

the gameplay style is based upon beat 'em ups, like river city ransom, double dragon(the japanese twin bosses btw) and the like.

and then the stores are also referencing the way the stores in river city ransom were.

and theres toad from mario as well at 2:54 and Stills' "warp out" sprite is him jumping into a green pipe like from various mario games as well.
