I just recently got a 2003 Acura CL Type S and I'm happy with it. I was thinking of changing the exhaust system. I was thinking of flowmaster. Would changing the exhaust give me additional power and will it sound loud? I'm gonna change the plugs to some NGK iridium IX hopefully this will give me a little extra power and gas mileage.
@deleon831 With the Type-S, exhaust doesn't really offer much of a gain since the stock exhaust is pretty free-flowing. If you were to install exhaust on a premium model CL or TL then there would be a more noticeable gain. As for the NGK Iridium plugs, I'm pretty sure that's what came factory, but hey, with new plugs you should notice a difference. A great HP mod for these cars is a good set of headers, they offer about a 10-15hp boost and sound great!
a 6 speed cl type s is rare and costs even more, that's that its auto, but the cl has a shift gate and it actually shifts well and fast. i would know, i had a '03 cl and i might get a '01-'03 cl type s with a 6 speed if i can find it

@1FastCltypeS The mufflers are Magnaflow 11214's with the '03 stock tips. I later added a test pipe and the sound was even deeper.

On the CL there isn't a significant gain with exhaust. It's mostly for the sound. The average gain is about 3-5hp.
