  • Good idea! However, they forget to say that there's a whole range of phenomena between the syllabic spell-out (and pronunciation) and the actual pronunciation at a stretch that make the word sound completely different. Sorry, but teaching pronunciation without going into the details of compression -and above all, the use of the schwa- is mere wishful thinking.

    Very "English-speaking".

  • @alasal It seems there's some variation in some of their vids, where the actual word is said one way, and they say it that way, but then do the slow, single syllable takes, differently than they just said it. Like here, Hip-OOOOOO-crite, then she says it as what can be clearly taken as either Hip-uh or Hip-eh. It's actually annoying me, not cause I'm a language "learner" or teacher, but because I deal with voice overs, and this is the kinda crap that is regionally correct, and thus, never right

  • Thank you very much that is very helpful.

  • I will be hypocrite if I will say that I'm not jealous to her genteel nature.

  • @antetchie no that doesn't make sense

  • pretty good, thanks.
