I still prefer G1 because it has more adventures and creative concepts. G4 comes second but I wish they had threatening villians like G1 had.

Comparing G1 to G4 is like comparing apples to oranges.

G1 was one of the better cartoons of the nineteen-eighties. The animation mistakes were quite typical in a cartoon show the time, and remember that it was done by a different studio than Rescue at Midnight Castle (which is a brilliant and respectable OVA.)

WHY are people arguing over something as silly as My Little Pony?! Lauren Faust LOVED the original series, and to honour it, she made her own (which I LOVE). Remember this series is old, which is why it doesn't live up to your strict animation and voice acting standards. I wasn't around when these series were made, but I can still appreciate them. FiM had to start somewhere!

So FiM fans, stop bashing the old series. And fans of the old series - don't knock FiM until you've watched it! :)

I love all My Little Pony. But keep in mind it goes both ways. Even though I loved the old cartoon, when I come here to relive that nostalgia, and even mention FiM, suddenly the fans who ONLY like G1 make me feel very unwelcome. I wish we could just get along. Even if some of us don't like certain series of the cartoon, that doesn't mean we can't play nice.

Whoa, Wind Whistler is kind of awesome.

But the animation and kiddie voices are hard to deal with. The backgrounds look sweet, but traditional animation works rather poorly on small budgets.

If I remember correct they even turned Fizzy to a boy. At least sounded like a boy to me.

The barrell keeps changing between being upside and right side up. lol I love mistakes like that about the old cartoons. I've always loved Wind Wistler. Kinda thought Fizzy and Shady were annoying, but Fizzy is cute and Shady was good in the movie. I never thought Gusty was a guy, but the toy of her I had got black spots in the plastic. Baby Gusty had those sleepy eyes.

@pornoslut Yes, Gusty is a girl all the My Little Pony's are girls in show except in Sommambula (The Big Brother Ponies) where the Big Brother ponies are shown. They have fetlocks (hair around there feet/hooves) And yes Gusty is played by Nancy Cartwright who plays Bart Simpson. she plays other ponies as well but Gusty was Bart's or more to the point Bart was given Gusty's. The pony is sort of a Tomboy so it make sense.

For example, boy ponies do not wear bows in their tails, and have different feet than the girls. Also, Gusty is ALWAYS referred to as SHE (in the original English shows, at least). Check the beginning of Crunch the Rockdog part 2 for example. And Gusty has a baby gusty, boy ponies do not have baby ponies named after them without a mommy, and none of those 'family sets' are on the tv shows. Gusty is a female. :)
