I have that Birdie learning to fly commercial, but it's apparently a shorter version.
I used to love when they did fancy shit with the foods like 1:39 & 1:55. I specifically remember Cream Of Wheat ads in that era used to swirl red jam on the oatmeal. I think for a while the jam actually came with it.
Damn, I always thought Dr. Dean Adell was exclusivle to my town. Never knew he was syndicated.
Listen Shabba-Doo, just because you have 'do' in your name doesn't mean you can tell ME what to do!
I could have sworn Birdie already knew how to fly in prior ads.
What exactly do burgers learn at Hamburger U? It seems like a waste of time and money to go to college if the only career path open to you is to be lunch.
They apparently ran Busch Garden ads all over the south. I remember seeing them when I was a kid and wondering why I should go there instead of nearby Disney World.
It's probably not a wise idea to laugh uproariously at your customers’ attempts to pick up your merchandise.
@halcaannen At one time, Winn-Dixies were spread across the south, at least as far west as Dallas-Fort Worth. The DFW stores all closed sometime during the '00s.
@MsStinkeye Oh, man, that is so awful...glad you posted this as I'm sure many of us would've had no idea that this child was murdered by her father...what a horrible, horrible waste.
Not true. AFIAK, the only lawsuit involving McDonaldland characters was filed by Sid & Marty Krofft for the similarity between McDonald's "Mayor McCheese" and their character H.R. Pufnstuf. That was nearly 40 years ago.
McDonald's doesn't use the characters anymore largely due to pressure from parents groups that say they help promote childhood obesity. No lawsuits were involved.
My mistake then. I thought I had heard about a case from 2002 or 2003 that the Krofft brothers were talking McDonald's to court again because they were originally hired to do the McDonaldland ads, and thus owned the rights to the original characters, with the exception of Ronald and post 70's characters like Birdy.
The last girl in the Quaker Oh's commercial (the one sitting in a white lawn chair holding the red bowl) is Andrea Laura Barber, the girl who played Kimmy Gibbler on Full House.
My god, Tato Skins!! That was one of my all-time favorite snack from the 80s. Why do that discontinue the best and most delicious tasting foods? The Taco Dorito chips(not the Taco Bell flavored ones, which tasted different), the Super Mario Bros Ice Cream Sandwiches(those were mouthwatering GOOD!). Hell, I don't know if anybody remembers, but Maruchan Instant Lunch actually used to have dried egg pieces in their soups(which made it way more delicious). Oh, Fruit Wrinkles! Good times!
@HomeoftheGoodGuys Actually i saw them like back a year ago at a convience store and ive seen them in vending machines, once in a blue moon, they may still make them, just not as much anymore
commercial number 9 with bill cosby I love seeing that commercial on the internet including youtube, i even created a youtube poop with that commercial
Also, the Cheerios commercial; omg how adorable is that?
"And suddenly, your kids love broccoli?" Are you asking us, Cos, or telling us?
4:58 looks like a science project volcano. What is that, tomato soup?

I often wonder if there are some sort of infinite supply of 1980s McDonald's commercials.

Holy crap, Snoopy: the Musical! I had that on tape, probably recorded on this same date. I haven't seen it in years.

The reason Birdy couldn't fly was that she ate too much McDonald's and was a fat bird! She would of been better as a paper weight!

Judith Barsi is the little girl in the Jif ad. She also voiced Ducky in "The Land Before Time."

@maquito16 Yes. Kids were able to play in the streets all by themselves with no fear. I grew up in the 80's and I miss those times so much...

I miss the McDonald-Land characters. McDonald's can't make ads with them anymore after getting sued.
