I love the "Seagull" setting Pat uses on his early Roland guitar synth on this song!! He also used this setting on the song "Oasis" from the same album Watercolors. It's so haunting... too bad he never really uses that setting anymore for some reason.Just listen to the last infinite-sustaining "Seagull" note at 9:44 that ends the song with Lyles piano flourishes !!!! big time beauty. I used to think that sound was Lyle but I asked Pat when I met him at Wolftrap in Virginia and he told me Seagull
This tune is beautiful (from the album Watercolors from 1977). When i listen to this i reflect about life. Pat Metheny is one of my absolute favorite musicians, hes a genious. He makes tunes that captures, sums up life in all its moments/moods, his music is so expressive, even though its all instrumental music, no words are needed!! Not to forget his co-writer and wonderful piano player Lyle Mays!! who hes written many tunes with.
What an absolutely wonderful, beautiful, relaxing, video! And of course, Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays are the BEST jazz artists out there. Their guitar and piano blend together perfectly as it slowly drifts you into another time and place. Thanks for the post. Cheers.

It's too bad Metheny doesn't allow anyone to cover his songs.
