  • See you there crossland...got my ticket :)

  • Team GBR fans come out in force and support A1GP at Brands Hatch 3/5/09.

  • ill be there =P

  • I agree that the best drivers in the world are in F1 but the supposedly 'worst' driver in F1 will easily win in F1 in the right car. That is really what sucks about F1 - it is a very elitist series where only 2 teams can win because of how much the car matters. I'd love to see F1 drivers in identical cars to find out who the best driver really is. That's what racing should be - the best drivers should be on top, not the drivers with the best cars.

  • IMO the top drivers in A1 would absolutely be competitive in F1 if given a good car. In F1, the car is 95%, the driver is 5%; in A1 the driver is what counts because the cars are all the same. Take F1 in Monaco last week - Sutil had some of the fastest laps and was poised to take 4th in a car that's not even close to competitive under normal circumstances but he was fast due to the road conditions where driving skills played a much bigger role than usual. Give Jani a Ferrari in F1 and he'll win!

  • I think A1 is a lot more value for money. You get to see two races A1 races where there is gauranteed too be loads of action in each. I've been to silverstone for the last two years and both f1 races have been two of the most boring races I've ever seen. If you love F1 then you should go, and it is almost worth it now with Lewis Hamilton having the chance at being able to win. But in my personaly opinion you should just save the extra £300 or whatever and just watch it on tv.

  • What a brilliant sport A1 is....Makes top class motor racing affordable to the normal person, Haven't been to the GP for the last Two years..!

  • I was there :D i love brands, such a great circuit for spectators and challlenging for drivers. Has anybody been to both an A1 grandprix and F1?? just wondering if the F1 experience is worth the considerable extra cost on the ticket...

  • lolarmara - I like Hamilton but yes...British commentators like to make excuses while the tabloids like to shaft it to him when he doesn't win every race...as though every other F1 pilot drives go-karts!

...A1 with the Ferrari chasis et al Damn! Imagine all those A1 pilots road testing Ferrari hardware on A1-racedays! Ferrari will mine all this rich data back into F1! The other teams missed out big time.

Meanwhile, Bourdais is a sorry sight to behold with Torro Rosso!

  • lolarmara - F1 is very exciting...lol!

Here's where you can enjoy the racing in F1

    1- Saturday qualifying...

2- The race to the first corner before the safety car comes out...

3- Seeing an F1 driver winning poll in qualifying...cz he knows he may probably win the race...

4- Button and Coulthard driving off and complaining...

    That's it...

  • hey man i do like Formula 1 and i absolutely LOVE there Qualifying format but the cars are so different that the races just get seperated and not much to watch. and now with A1GP getting Ferrari engines and cars this will be best year ever in the series!!! R.I.P Super Aguri :'(

  • heyjunjin - A1 has a lot of growth potential, especially when the drivers become household names. Do bear in mind, compared to CART/Indy, F1 R&D is aweseome, it takes the US car series around 5 years to catch up according to Jackie Stewart who I caught testing a Neuman-Hass race car. Said that, F1 is very uncompetitive race wise, regs are always changing from year to year! Toyata are reputed to spend $300 million a year on their team and they win nothing!

  • doesn't really, it's pretty dull

  • yay someone believes me :D

  • A1GP runs Circles around Formula 1 :D

  • The cool thing about A1 is that it is a level playing field and the skill of the driver rather than the car itself makes the difference. That makes for much more competitive racing. F1 has been dull for a long time because it's all about the car, not the driver. You could give Sutil a Ferrari and he'd win, and you could stick Hamilton in a Honda and he wouldn't do shit. Hopefully A1 keeps growing and attract more high caliber drivers a la Jani and the series could set itself up quite nicely.

  • amen :P A1 is going to grow so much this next year with Ferrari this is going to be sweet!

    Go Team USA!!!!!

  • true but it is nice to see cars and teams pushing the boundries of technology.

  • Pushing boundaries is great but it doesn't really matter if the racing it produces is is boring because you know beforehand that only 2 teams (Ferrari & McLaren in F1) have a realistic chance at winning. That's the way F1 has been for many years and it's lame. I want to see the human element/driving skill making the (main) difference, not the technology aspect. A1 is great from a racing standpoint because 10 different drivers or more could come out on top at any given race.

  • great day out i sat in paddock hill and it was by far the best seat in the house :P

  • I was really all over the place!!! I was at Paddock Hilll, clark and the main straight. Also I walked around the circuit!!!!!

    It was tiring!!!!

  • I was there at Paddock Hill, expected more action than that :(

  • the ireland/india thing was just a racing incident even john watson said that

  • The whole Ireland/India clash was all Narain's fault - he didn't give Adam enough room on the outside >:(

Very surprised they weren't penalised even though they cost us 5th place in the overall standings!

  • I dont know if A1GP ever looks on these posts but why not bring back a race in the USA? our driver just started doing great :D and WE NEED A GOOD "REAL" OPEN WHEEL SERIES over here more than anywhere :D
